L. Dunn cn his 80th birthday and also honoring his wife on her birthday and their weddinq anniversary. Dunn hon ored them Nov. 6 at a reception from 3 to 5 o'clock at the First Christian Church. The occasion was Dr. Dunn's 80th birthday, their wedding anniversary date and also the birthday anniversary of Airs. Dunn. Many of the family erouD wor shiped together at the Pine Grove Church in the morning, at which time the minister, Richard More head, asked Dr. Dunn to give the morning sermon. A dinner follow ed at the Umpqua Hotel. Covers were placed for Dr. and Airs. Dunn, Harold Dunn and son, Bobbie; Air. and Airs. David Dunn, Air. and Airs. Will Guthrie. Airs. The reception room at the Chris. tian Church was filled with color ful arrangements of fall flowers. Two beautifully appointed serving tables Held the birthday cakes and the anniversary cake. Airs; Dunn was cnarming in a Dltie-green silk print dress with a large orchid corsage. Dr. Dunn attended Northwest Christian College In Eugene. He had made his home in that city since September 1907 and prior to that had served as pastor of the Christian Church in Sumner, Wash., two j ears. His first sermon was preached in the county school- house June 25, 1899. He was grad uated in 1911 and served a num ber of pastorates as well as doing stato evangelistic work for 4Mi years. He moved to Roseburg 31 years ago and opened his chiro practic office. He has been a Christian Church minister for 48 years. His daughter, Derfla (Airs. Will Guthrie) of Culver City, Calif., and his son, Harold, of Springfield, en tertained the guests by singing a selection of most enjoyable num bers, accompanied by Afrs. Lor raine Wadsworlh. Dr. Dunn's son, David, and his grandson, Bobby, were also here for the occasion from Springfield. The reception was catered by Airs. Gordon Larson.. Airs. David Dunn of Springfield and Airs. Alva Ferebee of Prineville poured and Airs. Dean Wadsworlh and Airs. Clyde Kcstcr assisted in the serv ing. Richard AJoorehead presented two marimba numbers. The Dunrs many friends wish them continued happiness together and good health in the years ahead. Air. and Mrs. noyd Miller of Port land (the former is president of the company), came to Roseburg for the affair. Besides the man ager, Robert Nevue, and his wife and children, Patty, Beth and Bobby, the store personnel, their husbands and wives and invited guests enjoyed the occasion. Christmas gifts were exchanged and following the appearance of Santa Claus, a holiday program was presented and a social hour was enjoyed. Past Masters Dinner Is Given By Oakland Lodge The Oakland Lodge 16 AF & AM held its past masters dinner at the lodge hall in Oakland Thursday night. The regular dinner was held be fore the meeting. 97 members and visitors attended. Ninety nine members and visit ors attended the lodge that eve ning. The master mason degree was put on by the past masters of the lodge. The degree was given to William Gildersleeve of Oak land. There were 21 past masters at tending and taking part in the de gree work and there were St vis ing members from other lodges. Lounsbury of Coquille, took' as his bride. Miss Alice Jone Mathews, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Edward Mathews of Alameda. The bridegroom, a former Rose burg resident. Is with the U. S. Navy stationed at Adok, Alaska. E. Kent at 'her attractive home on SE Jackson Street for which the pioneer motif was cleverly carried out. Guests were all members of early-day settlers. Old fashioned flowers formed the decorations. Dotson Miss Sherry Lee White, daugh ter of Air. and Mrs. J. M. White, and Loren A. Dotson, son of Air. and Airs. Albert P. Dotson, ell of Winston, were united in marriage Thursday, Nov. 24, at 7 p.m. in a lovely home wedding held at the Bernard Jacobson home in Roseburg. The Rev. Carlton Peters of Rose burg officiated at the double ring ceremony. The services were held in the presence of close friends and relatives. A lovely arrangement of lighted candles beside two beautiful bou quets of lavender and yellow chrysanthemums were arranged to form a pretty setting for the rites. The bride was given in mam- ning in a dress of white silk em broidered nylon, with low neckline and full skirt. She carried a white Bible topped with a corsage of pink carnations. Her jewelry was a lovely heart shaped locket, an heirloom of the family. Her only attendant, Sharon Du Quette, was dressed in a full-skirted golden and dark brown taffeta dress with a circular golden stripe and a low necked black velvet top. She wore a corsage of pink car nations. Ocne Fisher acted as best man. The bride's mother was very lovely in a dark wool suit of mix ed tweed. The bridecroom's moth er was dressed in an afternoon frock of beige. Both mothers wore pink carnation corsages. 1 A reception followed the cere-1 mony, with Airs. Bernard Jacob- son in charge. The bride's table orcd tablecloth of lace, centered by a three-tired wedding cake, decorated with bells and in pure white. A bouquet of yellow and lavender chrysanthemums was also a. colorful attraction for the table. Airs. John Burt served the wed ding cake after the bride had cut the traditional first slice. AI r s. Bernard Jacobson presided at the coffee urn. The .couple left immediately for Eugene, the bride changing to a lovely red wool suit with black accessories.
