0 Second Half Comeback Vikings Of Myrtle Creek Tumbled By Illinois Valley Bunch, 56-47 A strong second half proved the downall of the Myrtle Creek Vik ings Saturday night as the Illinois Valley team picked up 38 points in the last half to win 56-47. Vikings Fight Hard The Vikings fought hard to gain a one point advantage at the end of the first period and then out scored Illinois Valley 15-8 in the second quarter. At the halftime break Myrtle Creek was out in front as the score stood at 26-18. Illinois Valley came back in the third quarter and racked up 19 points while holding the Vikings to only five points. At the end of the third quarter the caters from Illinois Valley had rolled to a 37- 31 lead. Illinois Valley contmued to pour on the coal picking up 19 points in the final stanza while llyrtle Creek was able to add 16 points to the scoreboard. The pair of 19 point quarters in the second half gave Illinois Valley the victory as the final score read 56-47 in favor of the Kogue Valley team. Burton Leads Team ' . Don Burton was high point for the game as he led the Illinois Val ley team with 21 points. A pair of Drainers in me iorm oi Terry and Don Johnson combined to give Illi nois Valley another 20 points as each boy accounted for 10 points. Myrtle Point made a clean sweep of its invasion of the Trojan stomp ing grounds with a victory in the preliminary contest.
