NUMBERS GAME The average baby born in America today can expect to live 69.7
years a record high says the National Office of Vital Statistics. And the odds for a
long life get better with each passing year. For instance, a baby celebrating his first
birthday in 1960 can look forward to at least 70 more and help ring in the new year o
2030 A.D. A young man of 20 in 1980 can expect to live through the first decade of the
21st century. As Newschart shows, the longer you live, the better chance you have of
surpassing the Biblical three score and ten.
