Mon., Nov. 14, 1960 Abeels Return To Melrose From Two-Week Auto Trip ' By NETTIE WOODRUFF Mr. and Mrs. Paul Abecl have returned to their Melrose home after a two-week automobile trip. In Crawford, Neb., they visited various nephews and nieces. At Rapid City, S.D., in the Black Hills they visited her two broth ers. En route home they stopped in Spokane, Wash., and spent some time with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Don For bes,, and children. K has been eight years since the Abeels had been In South Dakota.' Pair To L..v Mr. and Mrs. D. N. Busenbark plan to leave for Portland this weekend to attend the two-day an nual meeting of the Farm Bureau Co-op at the Multnomah Hotel. The former is a director of the local Farm Bureau. JoAnn and Ginger Busenbark and Lynne Withycombe of Corval- lis spent a recent weekend at the Dale BusenDarK nome. Mrs. Laura Vare. third grade teacher at the Melrose School, was ill several days last week. Mrs. V. Hockett substituted for her. Mr. and Mrs. Edwards and chil dren have moved into the Frank Smith rental which was vacated by the Lowell Rhoden family. Ed wards is employed in Myrtle Creek. Carol Manning has accepted a position at Mercy Hospital work ing during their campaign for funds to enlarge and remodel the hospital following the blast. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Busenbark recently attended to business in Eugene and Corvallis. They also visited their daughters while in Corvallis. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Thronburg and family have returned to Melrose following a five-month stay in Ohio. Garden Valley Pair Attends Meeting By ADDIE SCHNEIDER ' Mr. and Mrs. K. C. Layer' of Garden Valley attended the 21st annual outlook meeting of the American Poultry and Hatchery Association held at the annex of Lane County Courthouse in Eu gene. Mrs. Layer was a hostess for the fellowship hour and banquet held at the osiwrne noici. timo smun was the main banquet speaker. Tour Taken Airs. Clem Schnider took a group of Roseburg High School stu dent librarians on a recent tour. The young people were Judy Har ris, Carol Collier and. Marvin Schneider. Schools visited were Cottage Grove, Springfield, Thurs ton, North Eugene and the Uni versity of Oregon Library at Eu gene. . Mrs. E. A. Post has returned from Portland where she attended funeral services for her sister and attended to other business. Her husband accompanied her north but returned home earlier in the week. Mrs. Kittie Winniford recently arcomnanied her daughter. Mr. Henry Handy, to Central Point-to . visit Mr. and Mrs. Tom Winniford. i Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Denton have returned to their camp trailer! house at Klamath Falls after com ing home to vote. They will re main at Klamath Falls for another week. Republicans To Play Leading U. S.
