Roseburg's Junior Varsity rolled to a 32-0 lead at halflime and went on to rumble over the Springfield Junior Varsity, 38-7, Monday night in the final contest of the year. The Indian reserves wasted no time in taking the lead and at the first break led 190. All 36 players on the bench had seen action by halftime. Coach Ernie Robinson substitut ed freely in the second half and on an agreement with the Spring field coach, the quarters were cut from 12 minutes to eight minutes. Roseburg scored early in the third period to take a 38 0 lead. Spring field crashed into the end zone in the final stanza to get Its seven points. Halfbacks Bill Brothers and Bill Kirkpatrick led the Roseburg team to its fourth victory of the season. Each scored two tallies with Bill Brothers traveling 58 yards on a pass interception and then rushing for 28 yards. KirkpatricK's loucn downs came on plunges of three and six yards. Bill Brothers started the game off with a bang when on the third play he intercepted a Springfield pass and raced 58 yards for the first TD. He kicked the PAT as the Roseburg 11 took a 7-0 lead. Playing at a linebacker slot on defense Bill Brothers was rough on defense, as he accounted for many of the tackles which served to halt the Springfield JV's offensive at tack. The second time Roseburg got the pigskin it was off for another tally, with Kirkpatrick providing the scoring punch. Taking over on the KoseDurg 44 yara line me lo cal squad moved to the Springfield two in five plays and Kirkpatrick then dove into the end zone for the TD. Rot.burg Holds Roseburg held and Springfield was again forced to punt and a bad punt gave Roseburg possession on the Miller reserves' 30-yard line. Three plays later, Paul Brothers tossed the pigskin into the nd zone where Welch stood all by himself to grab onto the aerial. Early in the second quarter, the Indian reserves had a TD called back as Kirkpatrick raced 30 yards. Hank Rivera Named OSC's Lineman Player Of Week PORTLAND (AP) Oregon State's Hank Rivera is Oregon football player of tie week, named today by the Linebackers Club. Rivera, 180-pound junior who started the season at fullback and was converted to an end, was a major factor in OSC's 2010 win over Washington State Saturday. His blocking and defensive play was described as Inspired.
