(AP)-The Leb anite Hardboard Division of Cas cade Plywood Corp. will close its plant here one week effective ilonday, manager Jack Brande said Friday. Brande said the closure would affect some SO employes. He said the shutdown is due to lack of orders and need for repair work at the plant. The Reids' two sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Reid and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Reid, all of Eugene were present as were their grand son, Dick Stone of Salem, and their great-grandson, Bruce Stone. The senior Reids are formerly of this area, but have lived in Eugene for the past 10 years. Mr. and Mrs. John Qualey and Mrs. Eva McBelh and daughters, Callie Lou and Denise, all of Dal las, visited here on a recent week end with the Qualeys' son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Mor ris Bakke. Mrs. JlcBetU is Mrs. Bakkc't sister. Miss Martha Dtmtnt, who holds the rating of Airman 2c in the U.S. Air Force, is home on leave and is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Dement. She made the trip to the west coast by plane. Martha is slationed at Westover AFB, Mass. Mr. and Mrs. Bjarnt Paulson, 1156 NE Post, will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary Salur- ay, Nov. 12, from 2 to S p.m. at their home. AU of the couple's friends, neighbors and relatives are cordially invited to attend the affair. The Paulsons' son, Nels, and their daughter, Marie, will be host and hostess for the open house. Mr. and Mrs. Loo Merchant have left for Covina, Calif., where tliey will make their home. Their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reid, also of Covina, were here during the weekend to help the Merchants prepare for their move. Mr. and Mrs. Mer chant will reside temporarily at I the Reid home after they go to V.UVU1H. Mr. and Mrs. Gtorg Brooks were in Central Point on a recent weekend to visit the former's fath er, D. M. J. Brooks, and with his brother, Ernest Brooks. Mrs. Rudy Powolt visited Sun day on the University of Oregon campus in Eugene with Phyllis Syder, Helen Cooper and Sue Coff man, all former roommates of Mrs. Powell when she attended the University. They reside at Susan Campbell Hall. - ! Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bollows and family returned home Sunday aft er spending the weekend in Eu-1 gene as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Tad Hardesty and family. On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Bellows at tended the Circus Fans Club meet-1 ing at Skinner's Butte Park rec reational building. There are about 100 members of the club in the I slate of Oregon. I Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sttvant of Salem visited here over the weekend with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Stevens, and family. They came to see their new granddaughter.
