Elects Officers j The Douglas County' Pomona Grange met recently at the Ever green Grange Hall in Green ac cording to Mrs. William Banks, News-Review correspondent. The session was preceded with a pot luck supper. Emmitt Walters, Master of Po mona, presided and the Fifth De gree Obligation was given to ten members. Mrs. Howard Cracroft, Pomona Grange Death . Benefit chairman, reported only one death in the last quarter. A total of 434 members now belong to the program. Dean Boss, presented the pro posed Douglas County Pomona Work Program for the coming year, and .the program was adopt ed. A prize of $30 will he given the subordinate grange in Douglas County with the largest percent age of member visitations to other granges, beginning on Jan. 1. 1961. Members will report visits to i their respective lecturers for tal lying. Trozie Neilson, Lecturer, present ed the evening's program. Several selections were played by - the German Band which had played during the County Fair. They were introduced by Paul Casey. A skit was given by members of the Evergreen Grange with Isabelle McDowell as narrator. Election of officers for the com ing two year term was held and named were: Master, John Lander (Evergreen Grange), , overseer, Carl James (Myrtle Creek); lec turer, Trozie Neilson (Melrose); steward, Dean Boss (North Doug las); chaplain, Ruby Tucker (Ev ergreen); treasurer, Hayden Tay lor (Camas Valley); . .secretary, Jessie Thomas (Evergreen); .as sistant steward, Eugene Atwood (Riversdale); lady assistant stew ard, Charlcen Barnhart (Myrtle Creek); Ceres, Sylvia Larson (South Deer Creek); Pomona. Hil da Walters (Riversdale); Flora, Grace Williams (South Umpqua); gate keeper, Lester Hamacher (North Douglas); executive com mittee, Joe Brunbach (South Deer Creek), Blaine Johnson (Azalea), and Alvin King (fair Oaks).. Auditing committee members in clude, Guy Moore, Joe Brunbach, Russell Harwood, Hayden Taylor and Jessie Thomas. The countywide officer installa tion for all officers of subordinate Granges will be held Sunday at Sunnydale Grange, and on Nov. 13th at Evergreen Grange. Both meetings will be held at 2 p.m. Members voted to pay the host ing Grange $25 beginning in Jan uary.
