Past Noble Grands Meet Thursday Tlie Past Noble Grands Club ot Hosphurg met Thursday at the 100K Hall. A delicious dessert sup per was served in the dining room whii'h was beautifully decorated wilh fall flowers. i Hostesses were Velma Herman, Alamic Kelt, Mnry Goodman, El tie Mills and Margret Saunders. At the meeting, conducted by the president, Lena Poole, plans were discussed concerning the rummage mart which will he held in the basement of the 1UOK Hall and will be on Wednesday and Fri day ot each week from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Maggie Dent led tn the devotions. Ona Williams and Nona Thomp son were oa the entertainment committee. Covered Dish Luncheon Enjoyed By Ladies Club The Tenmile Ladies Club met this month at the clubhouse with IS memliers and three guests pres ent. Happy Hour Members To Be Bloodmobile Hostesses The Rlversdale. Happy Hour Club met recently for a 12:30 p.m. luncheon at the home of Mrs. N. C. Wallin. The liroiio voted a donation to the United Fund. Ladies of the club will act as hostesses at the canteen at the Bloodmobile Nov. 15 and 16. Glide Kiwanis HostPotluck The Glide Kiwanis Club held a politick dinner for members and guests recently at the Glide Com munity building. Jeralee Bunnell. Glide represen tative at Girls Slate, and Jerry Rust, representative of Boys State were guest speakers. Both gave a talk on their experiences at the convention held in June at Corval lis. Both Jeralee and Jerry were sponsored by the Glide Kiwanis Club. Other guests were Mr. and Airs. David Oas and Air. and Airs. How ard Basson, new residents of Glide. Oas is the new vocal director at Glide schools. Airs. Oas sang two solos accompanied by Airs, John Thompson. Parry Set For Friday The American Legion and auxil iary are having a Halloween party Friday, Oct. 28 at 8 p.m. at the Kellogg Grange Hall for their fam ilies and invited guests. Umpqua Rebekahs To Meet On Tuesday Umpqua Kebekah Lodge will meet Tuesday. Nov. 1. at the lodge hall at 8 p.m. Politick refresh ments will follow the meeting. Grange Members Enjoy Northern Trip Pictures- Elkhead Grange met at the Elk- head Hall Wednesday evening. Guests were Airs. Chester Ry dell, Airs. Alary Scott, Jim Cellars, Joe Block and C. D. Swcaringen, all from Sunnydale Grange, and Mr. and Airs. Alvie Manning from fair uag (.range. Laurel James, who recently re turned from a fishing trip north of the Aleutian Islands, showed pictures of his trip taken this year. Mr. James has done commercial fishing in the Alaskan waters for the past 23 years. Refreshments were served by Mrs. uoyd 1'inkston and Airs, Van Hutchinson. Business Women's Week Is Celebrated At Yoncalla Yoncalla BPW held a dinner re cently in the Conuusto Cafe to celebrate National Business Wom en s Week. A short Drogram on "Aims and Projects for BPW Women" was led by club president, Ktttie Jobe. Airs. Alabel AlcCord and Al r s. Grace Williams from Sutherlin were guests at the dinner. The next business meeting of the Yoncalla BPW will be Nov. 7 at the home of Sallie Farley at Drain. At 8 D m. Saturday. Horn of Pico Riv-l era, lain., exchanged marriage vows at t double ring wedding ceremony at the first Christian Church, James C. Smith, pastor of the church, officiating. Baskets of bronze chrysanthe mums decorated the church. Wayne Alosher, soloist, sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "Wedding Prayer." Before the wedding ceremony, the altar candles were lighted by Jerry Linn Smith and Neal Kolpke of Corvallis. Theo Lamkins of Winston, uncle of the bride, gave his niece in marriage. She was charming in her princess - style white satin dress, fashioned with a Graoe Kel ly neckline adorned with seed pearls. She carried a white Bible and a white orchid and wore a cloud veil with a tiara of seed pearls. Judy Christenson was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Melissa Hill and Janet Reed. All wore beige taffeta dresses with match ing nats ana oouqueis oi oronze and brown carnations. Flower girl Julie Smith wore yellow taffeta to match the dresses worn by can dlelighters. Their flowers were brown and bronze chrysanthe mums. Tom Hamm of Corvallis was best man. Ushering was done by Vernon Roth and Tom Kwailkow ski, both of Corvallis. Mrs. Carew was hostess at a re ception given for the bridal cou ple at the church following the ceremony. Airs. Ruth Jackson was in charge of the affair. The newlyweds honeymooned at Crater Lake and in Northern Cali fornia. For traveling, the bride wore a black sheath dress with white accessories. The "new Air. and Airs. Horn are now at home at 1045V4 S. 3rd, Corvallis. The bride has lived in Roseburg for 13 years and attended Rose burl! Hish School. The bridegroom attended El Rancho High School in California and is presently in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Adair Air Force Station at Corvallis. Lovely Wedding Event Of Oct. 22 Wedding vows were exchanged by Glenda Lee Willis of Garden Valley and Bernard James Senger of Tenmile at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Oct. 22 at 3 o'clock. The bride's gown of white slip per satin with bodice and sleeves of lace was enhanced by a string of pearls. She had a short veil and small train. The bride carried a white orchid with a yellow throat and cascading white stephanotis. Janice Gray was maid of honor and wore a yellow sheath dress while the bridesmaid, CharLee Packer, wore a copper sheath. Both had complementary shoes and hat and carried cascading chrysanthemums matching their dress. Darrell Hill was best man. Seat ing the guests was Jim Ross. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Glenn Willis. The Rev. D. W. Hinrichs offici ated at the double ring ceremony. Alusic was provided by Airs. H. W. Gray who sang "The Lord's Pray er" and "I Love You Truly." Baskets of bronze and yellow dahlias were used about the church. Friends and relatives greeted Mr. and Airs. Senger at the recep tion held at the parish hall. The wedding cake, made by a family friend. Marge Packer, was decor ated by Raymond Nichols with roses in shades of the bridal col ors. The cake was served by the bride's attendants. Coffee and punch were poured by Claudine Pollard and Norma Holmes. Shar on Hambrick was in charge of the guest book. Pat Kvidera opened the gifts. For her wedding trip to Nevada and California, the bride chose a blue and gray plaid suit. The newlyweds will be at their own home on Bower Street in KoseDurg vhen they return. Out of town guests attending were Airs. Lula Halsey of Pacific, Wash.; Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Hardin and Miss Paulette Leach, Olympia, Wash.; Airs. Jeanette Graves of Tacoma, Wash.; and Air. and Airs. Sy Nash of Grants Pass, The new matron is the daugh ter of Air. and Mrs. Glenn Willis of Garden Valley and is a steno grapher for the Douglas County Welfare Commission. Air. Pink And Blue Shower Given For Mrs. Robert Gaedecke Mrs. Bob Gaedecke of Azalea was honored at a pink and blue shower held Tuesday at the home of Airs. Clarence Smith. Airs. Birthday Observed By Robert Smoot Of Glendale Robert Smoot. 13, son of Mr. and Airs. Carl Smoot of Glendale. celebrated his birthday Friday at a small party held at his home. The youth and hn guests enjoyed a supper which included venison burgers and birthday rake. The cake was decorated with a hunt ing scene, with cedar twigs simu lating trees and ceramic figures of two fawns. Odd Fellows And Rebekahs Plan Potluck For Nov. 22 with pink and blue streamers. Aft er the honoree had opened her many lovely gifts, the hostesses served refreshments. Airs. Schimp had made a decorated cake as a gift to the honoree. Another cake had been frosted so that each serv ing was decorated individually. Those present or sending gifts were Airs. Fair Oaks HEC Chooses Officers Officers for the coming year were elected by members of the Fair Oaks Grange Home Econom ics Club when they met recently for a noon potluck dinner and meeting at the grange hall. New officers include Rose Chan dler, chairman; Jennie Harrison, vice chairman, and Virginia Wil liams, secretary-treasurer. The group completed plans for the public dinner to be held Nov. 6. Several members of Rose Chan dler's Camp Fire Girls will assist grange members with the serving, which will begin at 12:30. Tentative plans for the annual bazaar, to be held Dec, 10, were discussed. Members present for the meet ing were Alaggie Francis, Leulla Campbell, Virginia Williams, Edith Gerard, Rachel Newell, Rose Chan dler and Jennie Harrison. Roseburg Rebckah Lodge 41 met Tuesday at the lOOF, with Kath ryn Bovingdon, N.G., and Alinnie Batton, V.G., presiding. - A potluck dinner was enjoyed in the dining room preceding the meeting. The tables were very pretty, decorated with fall flowers by the committee. Velma Herman, Alamie Fett, Kathryn Bovingdon and Harry and Eileen Rapp. At the meeting first election of officers was held. A potluck dinner for all Odd Fel lows, Rebekahs and their families was planned for Nov. 22. The Odd Fellows will furnish turkey, cof fee, butter and rolls. The Rebekahs are to bring a covered dish, salad or dessert. Vesta Langficld was presented with her commission to be district deputv president. During the recess, Ethel Bailey. Doris Nelson, Lydia GUletl and Ada Hanna presented an interview dealing with the Odd Fellow home in Portland. Thella Webber.
