Frl!, Oct. 28, 1960 Counsel Opposes WPPSS Request WASHINGTON (AP) An appli ration by tho Washington Public Power Supply System of Kenno wick, Wash., to question two fed eral Power Commission witnesses in a Snake River dam case was opposed here by a commission counsel. Donald A. Sander said lie op posed the request as "untimely, indecorous, and without any basis or foundation." WPPSS questioned the objectivi ty of the testimony given by the two commission officials. Wash ington Public Power has applied PRUDENTIAL LIFE INSURANCE HORACE C. A conflicting application for a high Mountain Sheep dam nearby has been entered by the Pacific Northwest Power Co. of Spokane. A hearing on .the two applica tions is to open Nov. 4. Sander said the request to ques tion the commission officials by WPPSS was an attempt to create prejudice, to harass and to inter fere with commission staff func tions. The WPPSS request, which Is to be acted upon later by FPC Examiner William C. Levy, said it sought "discovery . . . into im proper direction given Ihem (the : witnesses) ny their superiors. Leonard, on SE Lane Avenue. following several days in Drain visiting her mother, Mrs. Agnes Swearingen. R. E. Kischel and children drove to Eugene Saturday to meet Mrs. Kischel and brought her back to their home here. Mrs. Kischel had spent several days in Portland at tending to business and visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Al Brown and fam ily snent their vacation in Port land visiting the former's father, who is principal of the Condon High School and who is hospitaliz ed in Portland. Brown is assistant cashier at the Roseburg First Na tional Bank. Charles Hart, formerly with the U. S. National Bank in Roseburg, Burns and later In Portland, has been promoted to act as manager of the new Cottage Grove Branch of the V. S. National, which open ed Thursday. His wife, the former Gladys Hart, is the daughter of J. A. Hart of this city. Bruce Randall Brenn, weighing 6 pounds 8 ounces, was born Thurs day morning, Oct. 27, to Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Brenn, in Ann Arbor, Mich. The baby is the first grand child of Mr. and Mrs. Burton Randall of Roseburg and the sec ond grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Har ry Brenn of Tehran, Iran. Mrs. Brenn is the former Lucuida Ran dall of this city. Dr. and Mrs. John W. Unruh , of this city drove to Eugene today football game. Mrs. 0. D. McAllister is able to be out again, alter sulfering u bad ly mangled right hand when she caught it in a mowing machine. Elliott of Oakridge, Ore., spent Friday, Sat urday and Sunday at the summer: place of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Hall. ! Elliott was superintendent of schools here before going to Oakridge. Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Jacobson have returned to their home in Laurelwood, following a week at Oceanlake. where they were joined for the week by the lattcr's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Art Lundeen, of Oswego, former residents of this city. Lee Olsen of Albany visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Olsen. and his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Densmore, recently. He and his father enjoyed a suc cessful deer hunting trip together.
