Mr. and Mrs. Jack Boucock of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, are visiting at the Harold Boucock home in Scotts Valley and renew ing old acquaintances. The Visitors ran a hardware store in Yoncalla for a number of years. The Intermediate Methodist Youth Fellowship group of the Yon calla Methodist church voted to have treat or trick for United Nations Interdenominational Child ren's Emergency Fund for Hallow ween this year. This is known as UNICE Fund. Mr. and Mrs. George Edes are at Eugene and Elmira, where they will care for their grandchildren while the latter's parents are in Eastern Oregon deer bunting. . The Yoncalla Telephone Company is completing the relocation of five miles of telephone pole lines, con sisting of cable and open wire. The work was made necessary because of the relocation and im provement of the Elkhead road, which ia slated to be black-topped from the end of the existing pave ment to Elkhead Station next year. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Stambaugh and daughter, Jeanne, have left on a vacation and plan to return about Oct. If. They left Friday morning to go deer hunting in the Chemault region. Mrs. Iva Cox has left to return to ber heme in LaGrande follow ing a 10-day visit here with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and : Mrs. J. I. Noyer, and her broth ! er-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. : Robert Marshall. Mrs. Cox is also visiting with friends in the area. ! Mrs. Bruc. Dalros left Saturday for Eugene to reside. She is join ing her husband, who is presently i a student at University of Oregon. Mrs. Dalros, formerly with the i telephone company here, has been ; transferred to the Eugene office. From here, she went to Rio Linda, Calif., to visit with her granddaughter, Mrs. Dale Ahlers, and family. Th. Mr. and Mrs. John Irwin of Mid dletown, Calif., are arriving Tues day to visit for a few days at the home of Mr, and Mrs. C. G Whelchel. Mr. and Mrs. M. K. Yost drove to Springfield Saturday night for the high school football game. They met their son, George, who is a student at University of Oregon and who came over for the game. Mr. and Mrs. Georg. Aiken are expected home tomorrow after spending a few days deer hunting in the Silver Lake area in Eastern Oregon. They were joined on the hunt by Mr. and Mrs. Pete Huston of Lebanon and San Bernardino. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pinchln of Vancouver, B. C . visited here briefly last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Whelchel. Both couples had attended the interna tional convention of the Independ ent Order of Foresters in Seattle the previous weekend. O. C. Langfi.ld of this city, who recently underwent major surgery at biantora Hospital in 1'aio auo, Calif., Sept. 10 has been released from the hospital and is convales cing at the home of his sister, Mrs. W. R. Weller. in the San Fran cisco Bay Area. He is getting along nicely and is expected to arrive home Dy plane sometime tnis week. Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Hackney have returned home following a trip to Vancouver, B. C, to attend the northwestern Kiwanis conven tion.
