Umpqua Woman Recently Visited By Children From Washington By MRS. GEORGE MUNSON Mr. and Mrs. William Kinsel of Spokane. Wash., were recent guests at the home of her mother, Mrs., A. Gillespie, at Unipqua. They had been on a vacation H ip to visit relatives in Colorado, Kansas and California. Iversons Return Mr. and Mrs. Myron Iverson have returned to their home at Umpqua after a trip to the State Fair at Salem, then on to Tacuma, Wash., and home via coastal route. Their daughter, Barbara, stayed at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S. Iverson. in Roseburg. Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Denton and family have moved into a place on the M. K. Nielsen place on Joel son Road. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Woodruff of Portland were recent overnight guests at the home of her mother, Mrs. Archie Moore. Mrs. E. Lansing of Cottage Grove is spending a week at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Delmar Mur phy, and family. Mrs. Myron Iverson and daugh ter drove to Gold Beach recently where they are snendina the week at Ihe home of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Beck. Aunt Visited Mr. and .Mrs. Harold Turner of Sacramento. Calif., were house guests at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Archie Moore, last week. Mrs. Turner is employed at the slate conservation oftices there. Miss Claudis Landis from Van Nuys. Calif., is visiting at the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. How ard Burdette on their ranch near Umpqua. Miss Landis will be a sen ior at San Fernando State College. She is also secretary for the Inter national Christ's Fellowship and for California State Teacher's As sociation. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mode and Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Henry drove to Salem recently where they at tended the Oregon Slate Fair. John, Teddy and Brad Sparks who have spent the past weeks at the home of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Nobley, have left for their home in Salem, Thev are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. John Sparks. Diplomat Gets Warning On Travel Violation WASHINGTON (AP) The Unit-, ed Stales has given the Soviet' Embassy a strong warning about a Soviet aide who violated a U. S. Havel ban, but has decided not to expel him. Stale Department sources said the warning about the action of Sergei G. Zhdanov was given to a Soviet Embassy representative orally on Monday by John M. Mi-Sweeney, head of the depart ment's Soviet desk. j Zhdanov, an official of the So-! broke U. S. travel restrictions by going to Chicago.
