' Camas Valley Grange Hall Scene Of Teacher Reception A very delightful teachers recep tion was hetd at the Camas Valley Grange Hall Thursday, the Camas Valley PTA sponsoring the annual event. Beautiful arrangements of glad ioli, dahlias and amaryllis were used in the decorations about the hall and on the center table which was set for teachers and their families. The Camas Valley Gar den Club members had made the floral arrangements and aissisted in decorating. The no-host dinner that was at tended by over 100 residents of the valley. Mrs. Donald Lawson, program chairman, presented several musi cal numbers played by Clem" Spur lock and Marion Rentz and Mrs. Ron Ross, Mrs. Marion Rentz and Mrs. Frank Kinnan, who sang in trio. A reading was given by Guy Moore. PTA president Mrs. Robert Ran dall welcomed Hie new teachers to the area, and introduced the other officers of the PTA. Superintendant Warren Brenner introduced the following members Bridge-Supper Club Meets Mrs. Adrian Fisher graciously entertained her bridge club Wed nesday evening at her beautiful home in Laurelwood at a 7:30 o'clock dessert - supper. Purple daisies formed the centerpiece for the serving table, while red daisies formed the living room arrange ments. Covers were placed for Mrs. Hall Seely, a guest, and Mrs. H. H. Tur ner, Mrs. J. P. Motschenbaehcr, Mrs. S. C. Richmond, Mrs. Frank Long, Mrs. L. J. Fullerton, Mrs. O. M. Berrie, Mrs. George Wharton and the hostess, Mrs. Fisher. High score for the evening's bridge play was won by Mrs Mots chenbacher with Mrs. Lng win ning second high score and Mrs. Seely the traveling prize. Pastor Is Honored The Glendale Missionary Bap tist Church held a potluck picnic dinner at Barton Park near Glen dale Sunday after the morning service. The occasion of the pic nic was a farewell for the pastor, F.ldcr H. D. McDonald and family who plan to move soon. Booster Night Slated South Deer Creek Grange will hold its Booster Night in conjunc tion with a country auction Satur day, Sept. 17. Refreshments will be sold. Stanford Alumni j Have Meeting To Organize Chapter A group of Stanford University Alumni interested in organizing a Southern Oregon-Northern Califor nia Alumni Chapter met recently at the Medford Hotel. Temporary officers elected were: Sam H. Beiiah, Box 6, Rogue River, Ore., president; secretarial committee members, Gertrude Mc Laren, Jan Zuxier, Jane Hood and Joan Boyden, 2541 Sandy Terrace, Medford; organiiationai committee, Paul Blanchard, 1047 SE N. St. Grants Pass. Mr. Blanchard was one of the Stanford alumni that organized the Chicago Stanford Club in 1923, which club now has over 600 mem bers. It was decided to have l party meeting Oct. 8, 1960 during the na tionally televised Stanford-Washing-ton football game, in Medford, Ore gon, Notices will be sent to all of the known members living in Coos, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine and Klamath counties in Oregon, and Del Norte, Humboit and Siskiyou counties in California. AAUW Board Of Directors Entertained By Officers Mrs. Walter Edmonds, president of the Roseburg Branch of the American Association of University Women, assisted by Mrs. Cecil Sherwood, entertained the board oi directors of AAUW in the social hail of the Presbyterian Church recently. The Alpha Zeta Theta Bho Girls Club 30 of Roseburg held a special meeting for initiation of new mem bers and to honor Karen Rcnfro, outside guardian to the state Theta Bho Assembly. Karen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. M, Renlro of Roseburg. She was elected to the state office at the assembly held in Springfield in June of mis year. A beautiful candlelight initiation ceremony accepted into Theta Rho tris Shoemaker, Eileen Haniin, Gail Gregory, Nancy Knaggs, Nan cy Dean and Vicki Slabaugh. Twenty-four club officers and members, dressed in pastel for mais, gave a very impressive drill, showing the close association of the Bebekah Lodge to Theta Rho.
