R. Ruff. L. B. Hicks and George Clarno have left for Eastern Oregon for the special deer hunting season. Mrs. Ethel Kennerly has left for a visit with relatives in Oregon and California. Mrs. Roy Thomason, a former employe at Mark's Market, has gone back to work there in the market's new bakery department. Mrs. Merle Rappe and her father, Loren Wilber, are expected home tomorrow following a trip by plane to California to visit with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Bowker are leaving tomorrow for Vale where they will attend the Assessors Con vention. They plan to return home Saturday. Mrs. Joe Gamez and children, Joseph and Christina, have return ed home after spending the sum mer in Rome, Italy, visiting with Mrs. Gamez parents. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Paige and son, Richard, were in Portland over the weekend to attend the wedding of the Paiges' niece, Miss Sue Holcomb. Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Wingfield visited Saturday in Eugene with and Mrs. S. H. Wingfield Jr.) and family. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Cheek and daughter, Cherie, and Mrs. Cheek's parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Coeti and son, Victor, have returned to their home in Warner Robins, Ga., after a two week visit here with Goetz' moth er and sisters and their families. Eugene Atwood was in Eugene Sunday to visit his mother, Mrs. Hazel Atwood, and assist her in her preparations for moving to a new home. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Krohn Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Krohn Jr. and family were in Portland for the weekend to attend the wedding of Miss Barbara Ladd. Mrs. W. E. Stevenson has re turned to her home in Redding, Calif., after spending a few days here visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Meredith, on Brown Avenue. Miss Kay Johnson returned to Roseburg Friday after having spent a week vacationing in Newport with her grandmother, Mrs. Blanche Willey of Eugene, and her aunt. Mrs. L. H. Brand, and daughter, Alice, of Quincy, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. John A. Johnson and children, Marcia and Sandra, left Friday for their home in Se attle, Wash., following a two-day visit here with Johnson's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Loren Christensen. Johnson is owner of J & J Pharmacy in Seattle. The Rev. and Mrs. John Gost are presently vacationing, visiting relatives and friends in Oklahoma and Texas. Accompanying them on the trip as far us Waco. Texas, was David Land, who has spent the summer here and who will be resuming his studies at Baylor Uni versity at Waco. Mr. and Mn. C. E. Donelan and children, Cynthia and Gary, have been visitors here at the home of Mrs. Donelan's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Payton. Mrs. Payton and daughter, Deanna, had been visiting at the Donelan home and returned to Roseburg with them. The Donelans are from Pa cifica, Calif. Mrs. T. P. Orto of Eugene, Mrs. W. E. Stevenson of Redding, Calif., and Mrs. A. W. Fidler and daugh ter of Portland spent three days in Ashland enjoying the Shakes pearean Festival. The three wom en, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Meredith of this city, met in Roseburg for a reunion of the Mer edith family, then made the trip to Ashland. Mrs. C. E. Pieiter of Phoenix. Ariz., who has been visiting in Cali fornia with friends, has arrived in Roseburg to be the guest of her brother-in-law and sister. Mr. anil Mrs. 11. J. Kress. Mrs. Piester was accompanied here by her chil dren, Sharon, Penny and Kenny. They plan to leave for home in a few days and will be accompanied by Mrs. Piester's mother, Mrs. Leona M. Martin, also of Phoenix, who has been a visitor here at the Kress home.
