Butch, and Mr. and Mn. Jerry Hounih.ll and sons spent Sunday at Bandon visiting friends. Mr. and Mrs. Arle J.cklin and grandson, David Roberts, enjoved a two day outing last week at Winchester Bay. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. McAllister and Sharon and Susie spent the past weekend at Winchester Bay, where the former caught a 2i pound Chinook salmon, Mr. and Mrs. L.wis Whit, and daughter, Miana, and granddaugh ter, Vickie, of Omaha, Neb., are visiting in Roseburg at the home of Mr. and Mrs. . M. White. Mr. and Mrs. M.lvin Wolford and family of Cottage Grove visited friends in the Roseburg area last weekend. As Miss Wilma Walker, Mrs. Wolford was a teacher in the Adventist church school bere in Roseburg for two years. Mr. and Mrs. Andr.w Hanson and daughter, Margie, visited in Klamath Falls Saturday with Mrs. Hanson's brother, Wayne Grisc-, and the latter's son-in-law, Lee Col lins, both of Tujunga, Calif. The Hansons spent Sunday fishing at Odell Lake. Mrs. Flora T.mpl.ton of Yoncal la has entered the Douglas County Nursing Home following recent confinement in Portland and Eu gene hospitals after suffering a stroke. Her daughter, Mrs. William Knight, has been in Portland with her mother and accompanied her to Roseburg. Mrs. L.roy Ingram and children, Marsha, Larry and Marilyn, of Martinez, Calif., visited here last week with Mrs. Ingram's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Barnes, and oth er relatives. The visitors were en route to see relatives in Sweet Home and Eugene and in Klam ath, Wash. Mr. and Mrs. Aivin Knight of Grand Falls, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. Arlie Templeton of Arlesia, N. M., have returned to their homes after a visit here to see Sirs. Flora Templeton, mother of Mrs. Knight and Arlie Templeton. They visited in Roseburg at the home of a sister, Mrs, William Knight. Vicki and Kelly Hudson, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hud son of Sutherlin, are visiting here at the home of their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. George Stroop, while their parents are on a vaca tion in New Mexico. The Bill Hud sons were accompanied by their son and by Mr. and Mrs. Olin Hudson, also of Sutherlin. Mr. and Mrs. D. G. Horn and family spent the weekend visiting relatives in Klamath Falls and Medford. In Medford they saw Mrs. Horn's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Frost, and her great aunt, Mrs. Leila Churchwell of Rog ers, Ark. In Klamath Falls they visiled at the home of Mrs. Iloun shell's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hounshell. Mrs. Emm. Thorn. son, who un derwent recent surgery at Douglas Community Hospital, has been re leased from the hospital and is convalescing at her home at 668 NE Jackson. Mrs. Thomason is able to be up and around and would welcome visitors. Her daugh ter, Mrs. Dick Fies, and son, Lar ry, of Bend have returned home after a trip here to see Mrs. Thorn-1 ason. John S. Brady, son of Mrs. Fran ces Brady, 644 W. Union, has been chosen delegate of the OSC chap ter of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity to attend the national convention in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the Cincin nati Netherlands-Hilton Hotel Aug. 21-24. John has just completed his freshman year at Oregon State and is presently attending summer school there. A major in pharmacy, John was selected outstanding freshman of his chapter this spring and was presented a trophy at an alumni dinner in Portland. He is presently fulfilling the duties of rush chairman of his house. Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Kainei and son, Rusty, returned home Satur day following a month's vacation. They visited points of interest in New Orleans, La., Williamsburg, Va., Detroit, Mich., Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Banff and Lake Louise in Canada, The Kaines were in Washington on the last day Con gress was in session and enjoyed meeting Rep. Charles O. Porter and his aide. Miss Laura Olson, formerly of Roseburg. They saw relatives in Warner Robins, Ga., Washington, D. C, and Bruce's Crossing, Mich. At Everett, Wash., they visited with the Rev. and Mrs. W. A. Sylwester and family, for mer residents of this city. The Rev. Mr. Sylwester was pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church here for many years before he and his family moved to Everett. The fam ily has just moved into the new parsonage connected with the new church building recently complet ed. Calif , was here a tew days last week to visit at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Mr, and Mrs. Charles Fingerlos. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Freeman of Eureka, Calif., accompanied by their son, Monroe, have left for theij- home after a week's visit here with Mrs. Freeman's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. George Stroop. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Rapp, the for mer auditor for Kern County, Calif, slopped by here recently on their way to vacation in Canada to visit his brother. Hurry Rapp, and other relatives. They were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Osborn at Win chester for three days. Mrs. Paul B. Hult has returned to her home near Dillard after spending the weekend in Yakima attending the All-Arabian Horse Show. While there she visited Mr. and Mrs. Harold Scofield, former local residents, who now own and oDerate a photography studio. She made the trip by plane. Lookingglass Grang. will hold a work day Sunday at 1U a m. with a politick barbecue dinner planned for 1 p.m. All grangers and thuse interested in helping tile members finish their new hall are invited to attend. Mr. and Mrs. D.an McDonald and family left Sunday for their home in Topcka. Kans., after a visit here wilh the former's sis ter, Mrs. Arthur E. Mills, and fam ily. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. George Williams and family of this city. A trip to Diamond Lake was enjoyed during their visit. Edgar Maynard, Max Swall and Sig Wolf fihed Sunday at Charles Ion and came home wilh their limit of salmon. Mrs. Earl Brennen, who has been confined to Mercy Hospital for sev eral days, has been released and is now convalescing at home. She is able to receive visitors. Mrs. Brennen will be unable to be back at her work at the hospital tor some time. Med. B.rhight of Warren, Pa., has arrived here to visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Madi son at Oakland. Mr. and Mrs. Chester South wick of Olympia. Wash., spent three days last week with Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Adams. Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Knapp have returned from a few days at Rock away on the coast and in Salem, where they visited the latter's sis ter, who is ill. Word had been received by Mrs. L. E.
