Special Fair Tickets Now On Public Sale SALEM (AP) Tickets for pecial attractions at the Oregon btate Fair, to be held Sept. 2-10 are now on sale, fair Manager Howard Maple said today. These attractions include the vaudeville show, featuring Louis Armstrong; the horse-show rodeo, and horse races. Bill Loomis of Salem spent two days in Roseburg last week and attended to business and visited his parents. Mr. and Mrs. George Loomis. Bill is with the State De partment of Education. Mrs. Pete Pearson and children, Mark, Marcie and Greg, and Mrs. Don White and Bruce and Cindy are spending some time at the Pearson's summer cottage on Laurel Lake south of Bandon. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Prince of Calimesa, Calif., arrived Thursday to spend several days attending to property interests on Little Riv er and are houseguests of Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Hackney. The Princes are spending most of the summer in the High Sierras. Mr. and Mrs. Orvtl Madson and daughter, Barbara, were weekend guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Koark and family. Mrs. A. 1. Young of Roseburg attended the three-day grand ses sion last week of Job's Daughters in Salem. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Reinhart have purchased the tormer Coon home on Short Street and plan to move the first of the month from their place on Robert's Creek Road. Expected to spend several days in Roseburg this week with Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Johnson are the former's son-in-law and d a u g li ter, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hughes, and four children of Spokane. They are on vacation and will go on to California to visit other relatives. Mrs. Robert Kent and sons, Jer rv and Rickie. and Mrs. Luciu Har ris were in Eugene this week on business. They were met there by Mrs. William Wingfield and daugh ter, Linda, Teresa Weatherford and Janet Kent, who accompanied them back to Roseburg. Janet and Ter esa have spent the past three weeks at the Wingfield home in Alsea. Mrs. Wingfield and Linda will visit here for several days. Savings! Recent visitors at the home of the Ted Dauber family and Mrs. Myrtle Wenger on Cobb Street were Mrs. Johnnie Elliott and chil dren, Irvin and Sylvia Jo: Carol Potrie, all of Mansfield, Ohio; Roy Neff, Bend, and William Neff, Tuc son, Ariz. Mrs. Russell Rummel left Satur day by plane for Jacksonville, III., to attend to business for two weeks, after which she will visit in Peoria for a week with her husband's brother and family. Her mother and sister of Los Angeles met her Sunday at O'Hare Airport in Chi cago to accompany her to Chi cago. Mrs. Rummel plans to be back In Roseburg on Aug. 6. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hartfiel, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne McCauley, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Gilbert and Mrs. Grace Helvey have returned to their homes following a trip to Bend to attend the fifth annual conclave of the Knights of Kharas san and Nomads of Avrudoka as delegates from the Roseburg organization. Mr. and Mrs. Stan Cornutt and children, and Mr. and Mrs. Del Cornutt spent the weekend at Diamond Lake. Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Graham have returned to their home near Winchester following an overnight visit with their son in law and daughter, Mr. and Sirs. R. D. Bal linger, of Mt. Shasta, Calif. They were accompanied on the trip by their cousins, the Misses Florence and Violelte Cole, of this city. Mrs. Josephine Armstrong, an aide at the local VA Hospital, is on a month's vacation trip to Alaska. Accompanying her were Sirs. Des sie Glanville and family, who will remain there with Sir. Glanville, who is employed in Alaska. Mrs. Glanville has resigned her position as a registered nurse at the VA Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Moffett, who were married Monday in Roseburg, spent a short honeymoon in tho Portland area and are residing temporarily with the bride's par ents. Sir. and Mrs. Carl Sleske. Sloffett is on leave from Seymore Johnson AFB in North Carolina. Sirs. Sloffett is the former Eu genia Sleske. She will join hi in alter attending to business in Los Angeles. The couple is also spend ing some time with his mother, Mrs. Helen Sloffett. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Leuellyn and family are spending the summer in Roseburg. their former home. They now reside in Phoenix, Ariz. Mrs. Vance Cox spent several days last week in Corvallis with her son and daughter-in-law, .Mr. and Sirs. Larry Cox, and daugh ters. Danny and Donny Smith ar rived by bus Sunday evening from Sledlord to spend the week with their grandparents, Sir. and Mrs. Vance Cox. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hodges and son, Loren, and Sirs. Altha Leu ellyn, of Nampa, Idaho, visited sev eral days this week with various relatives. The latter is spending several weeks with her daughter, Sirs. Dale Ellis, and family. Tho Hodges visited in Roseburg with his uncle and aunt, Sir. and Sirs. Clifford White, and with other rela tives. The Hodges and Sirs. Leu ellyn are former local residents. Mrs. Margaret Kimmel of Rose burg, and Mrs. Slargaret McGee of Canyonville, have returned home from Ixis Angeles, where they were delegates to the NEA convention. Educational problems of material interest were considered in gener al sessions and interests of special departments were discussed throughout the convention in group meetings. Slany states had exhibits and souvenirs pertaining to their in dustry or outstanding attractions at the Biltmore Hotel. Entertainment was provided by local teacher or ganizations, including a symphony concert at the Hollywood Bowl and a banquet at the Palladium with Art Linkletter as guest speaker. Sirs. Kimmel visited relatives in Oakland and San Francisco. Sirs. McGee is now attending a work shop at Corvallis.
