Wedding At Glendale
Is Double Ring Event
Jlrs. Georgia May Dark of Glen
dale and the Hev. Jay E. Kogers,
pastor of the Glendale Church of
Christ, were married Sunday aft
ernoon, July 3, at the Glendale
Church of Christ. The couple was
attended by her brother and sister-in-law,
Air. and ilrs. Charles
C. Clark of Cottage Grove. The
Rev. Norman Naugler, pastor of
the Glendale Olivent Presbyterian
Church, officiated in the simple
double-ring ceremony. Mrs. Lilly
Belle Cooley played the piano for
the occasion.
The church was beautifully dec
orated with white candelabra and
white baskets of white lilies and
daisies, blue larkspur and pink
roses.
The bride wore a champagne
beige sheath dress of a dacron
cotlon blend with all-over embroid
ery and with it a matching hat
and slippers and white gloves. She
carried a white Bible. Her cor
sage was of pink roses tied with
white ribbons. Her matron of hon
or, Mrs. Clark, wore a grey suit
dress with gold pin stripes, white
accessories and a rose corsage.
After tiie ceremony, the couple
was honored at a reception held in
the lovely back yard of the How
ard Edson home across the street
Hidden Valley Ranch Is
Setting For Large Reunion
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Robison on Hidden Valley Ranch
on Reston Road was the scene of
a most enjoyable family runion on
July Fourth when Mrs. Robison's
family gathered for its first re
union in twenty-seven years. The
Robisons entertained with a ranch
style barbecue.

with green leaves and pink ros
ettes. It was topped with a bride
and bridegroom (murine. A glass
bowl of roses, daisies and larkspur
centered the table, just behind the
cake, the servmg table was cov
ered with a lace cloth. Pink and
white streamers of ribbon were
extended from the centerpiece flow
er arrangement to the front cor
ners of the table.
The gift table was also covered
with a lace cloth and held, at one
end, a vase of lavender and red
sweetpcas.
Mrs. Ida Edson and Mrs. Mary
Ruth Thompson served the wed
ding cake. Miss Alice Neoel pour
ed the coffee, and Mrs, Gertie
Lystul poured punch.
Following a wedding trip, the
couple will be at home in Mrs.
Rogers' home in Glsndale.

By Days Creek Couple
The holiday was celebrated Sun
day at a real old fashioned bar
becue at the Jim Aleyers ranch
when Air. and Airs. George Shaffer,
proprietors of the Bridge Tavern,
invited their friends and patrons
to join in a day of baseball, horse
shoe pitching, contests for the chil
dren and the consuming of loads
of delicious food. Two pigs and a
lamb were roasted in a pit under
the supervision of Shaffer, Aleyers,
Bud Fisher and Jack La Branch.
More than 250 people joined in the
festivities.

cently. It was a beatnick party

A family of several children
needing special medicine is of im
mediate financial interest in salon
No. 505 now. Funds were raised for
the purpose of prevention of tu
berculosis in children, which is the
National Theme of Eight and Forty
clubs, and all funds are contributed
by the members. Eleven memners
were present. The next meeting
will be a potluck dinner at the Wen
dall Truitt home in Oakland July
24th. Alembers are asked to bring
white elephants.

Honors Pastor And Wife

Sunday evening before the services
to hold a farewell dinner and party
for tlie Rev. and Airs. Laurence
Pine and family on the eve of
their departure for Los Angeles.
During the hour they were pre
sented with a gift of luggage and
a love offering. Airs. Pine's Sun
day School class also gave their
teacher a Bible. Mrs. Pine thank
ed the group for their gifts, and
Rev. Pine gave a short taik on
things the congregation should re
member on getting acquainted with
a new pastor.

have accepted a call to the Gran
ada Hills Church out of Los An
geles, where they can be near his
elderly mother. They pastored the
Green Community Church for the
past three years.

Christian Camp
Said Successful
A youth camp recently establish
ed by the Christian churches of the
southern Oregon district is proving
quite successful. Attendance at the
camp is approximately three times
that of the youth camp held by the
same churches last year, accord
ing to James Smith, pastor of the
First Christian Church of Rose
burg. Eight churches last year formed
an association and purchased the
former Associated Plywood Co.
camp on Little River. Through vol
unteer labor the buildings and
grounds were prepared for sum
mer use.
The first ramp, designed for jun
ior high school ages, now is in
progress with H5 young people in
attendance, Smith told the board of
the Roseburg Church at a meeting
Tuesday night. Two camps for old
er groups are to follow.

also instrumental in beginning

Board in the country of Nigeria.

currently holding services in Tri
City. He has held 10 revivals

Trio, Minister
Slated At Green
The King's Daughters, a ladies
trio on tour from Azusa College,
Azusa, Calif., will present a pro
gram of song and testimony at
the Green Community Church Sun
day. The trio will sing at both morn
ing and evening services.
Tho girls are all students of the
college, majoring in music, teach
ing or mission work. Their reper
toire includes a ranue of selections
from the classical numbers to
folk tunes and spirituals, sung as
solos, trios and some quartet ar
rangements. Aliss Win! Walker ac
companies the trio in addition to
arranging for them.
Also visiting at the church on
Sunday will be the Rev. Air. Clark,
a missionary. Clark served in Ven
ezuela where ho instigated tho

Yucca Valley Community Church
in Yucca, Calif. , and is known for
his work in Youth for Christ.
