J 1 i AN AFTERNOON WEDDING of Sunday, June 26, united in marriage Linda Louise Johnson and Robert O. Wallace. The bride is the daughter of Clifford L. Johnson of Sutherlin. One of the many lovely June brides was Miss Linda Louise John.-, son, daughter ot Clifford L. John son Jr. of Sutherlin, who was unit ed in marriage at 2::iu p.m. Sun day, June 26, to Robert 0. Wallace, son of O. N. Wallace of Roseburg, in the Neighborhood Church of Christ. The impressive double-ring cere mony was performed by Lester T. Wells in the presence of 185 guests and relatives. White Madonna Lilies, yellow and pink gladioli, snapdragons, Sweet Williams and fern in two large and two small white baskets decor ated the church. ' Mrs. Ruth H. Trued of Roseburg played the traditional wedding march on the organ. I' rank Cruhhe sang "I Love You Truly" and "O Promise Me" and Lloyd Whitlord, former pastor of the church, sang "The Lord's Prayer" as the bride and bridegroom knelt at the close of the ceremony. ! Miss Huntoon carried a bouquet 1 of white Esther Reed daisies, pink ; carnations and fern and the two ; bridesmaids bouquets were of Es ' ther Reed daisies and pink rose i buds. They returned July 1 and are now living at 612 W. Kinlay Avenue, Roseburg, where the bride groom is working with bis father at the Wallace Garden Store on Harvard Avenue. Oerding ond the late Mrs. ' Oerding of R.oseburg. The ceremony took place at the Cen tral Presbyterian Church in Eugene. The wedding party is picured above. Oerding and the late Mrs. Oerding of Roseburg. Large bouquets of white gladioi. roses and peonies decorated the Itar for the ceremony which was read at 2 p.m. by Dr. George Ashwood. Miss Greer, who was given in marriage by her uncle. Roy H. llerschleb ot Seattle, wore a shcalh gown of white Charm Crystalette fashioned in oriental lines with boi sash forming a panel to the hem of her gown. Her fingertip veil was of Chantilly lace cascading from a crown of pearls. She wore gloves of matching lace. She car ried a white Bible topped wdh gar denias and stephanotis. and wore a gold cross and gold wrUtwatch, gifts from the bridegroom. Mrs. Lee A. Rasan of Roeburg. sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a gown of lilac taffeta with an ovcrskirt of em broidered nylon. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Gregory Young of Corvallis. ami Miss De anna Stone of Menlo Park. Calif. Their gowns were fashioned the same as that of the matron of hon or but in a pale shade of lilac. Shigley of Winston, was united in marriage to Virgil Ellis ; Vance, son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil C. Vance of Tenii'ile. The Rev. .Iiiines C. Smith performed the im- pressive double - ring candlelight ceremony in the presence of 125 j friends and relatives. , Tall baskets of pink and white; stoi-k and fern and graceful can-: delabra graced the altar, while the ; pews were marked with white1 salin bows. I Lighting the candles before thej ceremony were Bob Shigley, broth er of the bride, and George Brosi. ' The traditional wedding march-: es were played by Ruth Trued, or-' ganist. She also accompanied solo ist Irene AlcLauglilin who sang "Because'' before the ceremony and "The Lord's Prayer" during the service as the couple knelt on a white satin pillow. Given in marriage by her frdher, the bride was radiant in a flour length gown of chantilly lace and tulle which had a lace overskirt covered with scattered lace medal lions. The bodice had a scalloped Sabrina neckline and long sleeves of chantilly lace. The lingertip length tulle veil, trimmed with scattered lace medallions, was held in place by a pearl sequined crown. She carricsl a white Bible topped with a cascading bniqucl of white carnations and Esther Reed daisies which was centered with a large white orchid. She wore a pink pearl necklace, which bad been wSrn by her sister at her wedding. In addition she wore a 4v-1 mwi -I- s iff- MARRIED at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Miller Friday evening, July 1, were Miss Linda Humphreys, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Humphreys, and Carrol Lewis Smart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Smart, all of Glendole. Lewis Smart, also of Glendale, were united in marriage in a love ly garden setting at the home of Mr. and Airs. Clifford Aliller Fri day evening, July 1. The bride was attended by her cousin, .Mrs. Sally Alunyon, as matron of honor; and the bride groom was attended by his broth-er-in law, Lyle Jeffries of Canyon ville. Rev. Charles Richardson, pastor of the I nited Pentaeostal Church in Aiedford, officiated in the double-ring ceremony, the bride was given in marriage by her fa ther. The bridal party stood in front of a while arch twined with pink roses and fern. Silver-colored con tainers of Bluebells ot Scotland and fern were placed on either tide of the arch. The bride wore a pale blue lis-sue-dacron ballerina length gown of simple dej''n. A wide inset of lace, scalloped on one side and edged on the other with an em broidered pastel flower design graced the skirt and the bodice. Her short veil was held in place bv a satin hand. She carried a wed ding nosegay of red roses. - The matron of honor wore a full-' skirted blue and while flowered ballerina length firess with a while hat. Her corsage was of pink roses. The mother of the bridegroom wore a navy blue dress. Her cor-1 sage was of dark red carnations. ! After the ceremony, the couple cut a four-tier white wedding cake, trimmed with pale pink roses, green leaves, and while rosettes. It was topped with bride and bridegroom figurines standing in a circular arch. The cake was the centerpiece on a lace covered serving table. At one side was a divided bowl of double petunias. A second serving table from which punch and cof fee were served was covered with a Swedish lace elolh with a cen terpiece of red roses and pink car nations. Airs. Alary Jane Jeffries, sisler of the bridegroom, served the cake Terry Sue Johns, cousin of the bride, poured punch; and Judy Mil ler, cousin of the bride, poured the coffee. Airs. June Aliller. aunt i.f the bride, made the corsages and floral arrangements for the ncca-uon. Airs. Doris Johns, an aunt of the bride, had charge of the guest book. Out of town guests at the wed ding included Mr. and Mrs. Vard Aliller and Judy Jo of Grants Pass; Air. and Mrs. Lyle Jeffries of Canyonville, and Rev. Charles Rirhardson of .Medford. After the ceremony, the bride changed into her going away cos tume, a yellow princess style dress with which she wore the corsage from her bridal bouquet. After a brief wedding trip the rnuple returned to Glendale to re side Smart has been employed at the Dollar-Patterson mill in Glen dale. Airs. Smart will continue to work as secretary to the grade school principal, a position she has held for the past two years. pearl and diamond pendant on her garter, a gift from the bridegroom. Airs. Bill Cain of Newark. Calif., acted as maid of honor for her sis ter. Bridesmaids were Airs. George tiro.si and Aliss Alaxine Vance, cousin uf the bridegroom. Alt three were charming in ballerina-length gowns of blue chantilly lace over powder blue taffeta with blue taf feta cumerhund. They wore dain ty headbands of little white rose buds over blue net and carried bouquets of pink and white carna tions and Esther Reed daisies. While gloves and pumps complet ed their ensembles. The flower girl, Aliss Terri Pleu ard of Sutherlin, second cousin of the bride, was petite in a pale pink organza frock. She wore a small while flowered hat and white cloves and curried a white basket of pink roses. Ring bearer, Gary Lee Coals, second cousin of the bridegroom, carried the rings on a heart-shaped satin pillow edged in lace with white satin streamers. David Wylie, high sbool and col lege friend of the bridegroom, act ed as best man. Ushering was done by Bob Shigley and George Brosi. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Shigley wore a becoming blue ny lon print gown with full skirt, a gardenia corsage and while ac cessories. Airs. Vance, mother of the bridegroom, was attractive m a navy blue silk crepe sheath dress. She also wore a gardenia corsage and while accessories. following the ceremony Air. and Airs. Shigley were host and host ess at a reception held at Ruth Bradley s beautiful Oak Tire inn on the (Jmpqun River at Winches ter. The wedding march was play ed as the couple entered and soft music was played during the en tire reception. The room was dec orated with white wedding bells and wlule net. I lie hndal party re ceived their guests in 'ront of the beautifully decorated fireplace. The bride's table was cqiiisitcly arrang ed with while net covering n pink satin cloth and nosegays of littlo pink roses. The centerpiece was of white tulle and pink roses with matching white candlesticks. The wedding cake was three tiered with sprays uf pink roses and blue forget-me-nots. Airs. Harold Vance, aunt of tha bridegroom, and Aliss Darlcno Kleve cut and served the cake. Coffee and lea were served by Aliss Terri Martin. Punch was served by Airs. Ralph Shigley, aunt ot the bride, on the patio overlooking the river. Aliss Siizy True had charge of the guest book and Airs. Gary Couts, Airs. Roy Aliller, and Airs. Harold Martin had chargo of the gifts. All wore corsages of white carnations and Esther Reed daisies. After (he wedding and reception, the newlyweds left on a honey moon to the Oregon coast and Cali- 1 fornia. They are now at home to friends at 620 Fairhavcn Ave. ApU 11. Roseburg. The bride, who has resided most of her life in Winston, attended Dillard schools and was graduated from Douglas High School in 1960. She is now employed as a nurse oy mvcrsuaic sanitarium. The bridegroom was graduated from Douglas High and has at tended Willamette University and Southern Oregon College. He is cur rently employed by A. F. Saar Inc. until fall, at which time he and his bride will return to college. Out-of-town friends and relatives were Air. and Airs.
