Accused Polygamist Fights Extradition ' SAN FRANCISCO (AP)-Much-marricd Frank Gratto is fighting extradition to Portland, where he Js accused of polygamy. Gratto appeared in court here Monday and said that the com plaining wife, Claire DeMay, had been married and divorced since he left her. His attorney got a delay until Friday, saying Gratto might change his mind. The lawyer added that, in any case, more information from Portland would be available by then, i . (AP)-Hen-ry Cabot Lodge, chief U.S. dele gate to the United Nations, said today Premier Nikita Khrush chev's attacks on President Ei senhower serve as a healthy re minder that basic Soviet aims have never changed. In a speech at the 120th com mencement exercises at the U.S. Naval Academy, Lodge said: "We strive for our ideals and for a world at peace. Yet we know the road is difficult and dangerous. Wo know there can be misunderstandings, that our ideals can be distorted and that the possibility of violence is a familiar fact of our time. - "The most recent Kremlin press conference, for example, impress es first by its untruth, its un pleasantness and its crudity. (AP) -Two young Naval officers, one of them the father of seven children, died Tuesday when fl twin-jet at tack bomber plunged into Puget Bound from the end of a runway at the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station. The two other men in the plane were injured, one of them critical ly. , The cause of the crash was not determined. The wreckage of the 70,000-poundA3D Skywarrior was raised from eight feet of water about 200 feet from the end of the runway. The Navy listed the dead and their home towns as Lt. Howard B. Moore, 35, Tucson, Ariz., the pilot, and Lt. (j.g.) Richard D. North, 36, Charlotte, Mich. Moore had two children and North seven. Ensign Howard P. Lambert, 25, Johnston, Pa., was in critical con dition at the Bremerton, Wash., Naval Hospital. George Mozier, 28, an enlisted man from Westport, Conn., was in satisfactory condi tion at the Naval hospital here. The injured men, both bachelors, Were plucked from the water by a helicopter immediately after the crash.
