Tho doublo ring ceremony was performed by Del bert White, minister of the church. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length gown of while brocaded taffeta. Her fingertip-length veil was held by a headband of pearls, She car ried a nosegay of pink rosebuds. Wedding marches were played on the organ by Mrs. Wayne Tuck- Mrs.WillisCoble New PTA Head Mrs. J. C. Ross, juvenile pro tection chairman of tho Oregon Congress of Parent Teachers, act ed as installing officer at the re cent meeting of the Green PTA. Officers taking the obligation were Mrs. Willis Coble, president; Mrs. J. W. Williams, vice president; Mrs. Jack Myers, secretary, and Mrs. Lcroy Shuck, treasurer. The newly-Installed officers re ported on the findings and resolu tions of the Oregon Slate Parent Teacher convention held in Med ford. The PTA gave recognition to Sabra Martin, second grade teach er, and Mclvin CJnirk, fourth grade teacher, who are both leaving the district in June after many years of teaching at Green. They were presented with corsage and bou tonniere. Boom awards were won by Mrs. Hradley's third and .Vjss Paulson's sixth grades. The first grade room mothers aed as host esses for the evening. Musical entertainment featured the beginner and advancedbands, both playing aeveral numbers and ihen combining for Oie finale, with Ralph Anderson directing. Tho bride's attendants were her sister, Kvelyn Cole, maid of honor, and bridesmaids, Sharon Perkey, sister of the bridegroom; Margie McElravy of Eugene and Maxinc Buchanan. They wore street-length auua brocaded taffeta gowns and carried arm bouquets, Candlelight- crs, dressed in pink talteta, were Carolyn Cole, sister of the bride, and Kathy Morris. Don Cole, the bride's brother, served as best man. Ushers were Jim Perkins and Glen llird of Cot tage Grove and John Shelley of Pleasant 111 1. The church was beautifully dec orated and featured baskets of pink and aqua flowers and candles. Flower arrangements were by Mrs. Roy Haldemon, Mrs. Tom Cox and Mrs. Lena Gardener. A reception was held in the church basement following the ceremony. The beautiful wedding cake, which had been baked and decorated by Mrs. Annie Lovelace, was served by Mrs. ltruce Cun ningham and Mrs. Tom Morris. Other cakes served had been made by Mrs. Jim Stearns and Mrs. Harold Cole. Mrs. Hoy Haldemon and Mrs. Tom Cox served coffee and punch. Gifts were cared for by Mrs. Tom Heseock, I.eta Love lace and Mary Ann Davis. M r s. Roger Ness was in chargo of the guest book. The bride's mother, chose a blue flowered dress with while acces sories, while the mother of the bridegroom wore a beige suit with matching accessories, lloth wore white orchid corsages. I .J .Jt r Job's Daughters Bethel 8 Feted At Surprise Party A surprise party for Job's Daughters, Bethel 8, was enjoyed by over 300 Sunday. After the blast of August 7, the Job's Daughters throughout the state wanted to do something for tho Roseburg bethel to try and make up for the loss and trouble suffered due to tho blast. All Ore gon bethels were asked to set up a fund to uuv something needed For six months the secret has been kept. It was at this surprise party in the Masonic hall that the gifts were presented. Girls and Masonic dignitaries state - wide were present for the presentation A reception followed, put on by local Masonic orders. A set of three new velvet capes was given to the bethel for the queen, senior princess and junior princess. Miss Patty Dent, honored Officer Election Event Of Monday The last meeting for the year of tho Yoncalla PTA was held Mon day evening in the grade school gymnasium with the president, 11 lean Pontius, presiding. Getta Thompson gave a report of the recent dinner the PTA served for tho BPW convention here recently- Eight perfect attendance pins were given to Mrs. Wood, Mr. Har ris, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lee, Mrs. Dollv Goodrich, Mrs. Mildred Thiol, Mrs. Dan Webb and Mr. Chapman. Mrs. Wood, program chairman, introduced three eighth graders, who gave a fine report on their recent educational trip. They were Mary McDonald. Collis Huntington and Tommy Ellis. Mrs. Eldon Lee, past president of the club, installed tho follow ing officers for the coming year: Dale Besselt, president; Esther Dodd, vice president, Ixiis Chap man, secretary, and Beryl Adams, treasurer. Representatives from Ore gon bethels announced their contri butions to a fund that can be drawn upon by tho Roseburg bethel. A mirror with an engraved plaque will be purchased for the hall. The plaque was presented to Miss Carol Fray since she was the presiding queen during the blast. A mirror was also present ed to Mrs. Cora Young from the Oregon bethels to replace the one lost in her home as a result of the blast. Krcger surprised ihem at an open house on their golden wedding anniversary May 7 at their attractive borne near Wilbur. Ida Mae Conner and 0. F. Kre eer were married May 7. 1910. at Tucumcari, N.M. Territory. (New Mexico became a stale early in 1912). Their eldest son, Paul, was born while it was still a territory. The Kregers came to Oregon in 1923 and to Douglas County in 1935. They have owned and oper ated rancnes at various locations in the county and were mainly in terested is raising cattle. Coming for the occasion were the Kregers' sons, Paul and Fred, and their wives, Ethel and Kath ryn, all of Seattle. The men are general contractors, building and development, presently operating at Midway, Wash. Among others attending the open house were Mr. and Js. Harvey Carey, Mrs. E. 0. A short meeting was conducted. Members have collected books, which they are distributingto the children's ward in the Roseburg hospitals. Very clever and amusing game-s were played and priies were awarded to Margaret Wolfgang and Marjorie McConnell. Infant and teen-age costumes were worn by the ladies and priie for the nest costume was won by Silvia Kopack.
