Thursday On Voting Tour ... t Multnomah County's C. Girard (Jebby) Davidson appeared in Roseburg Thursday on his election eering campaign. He's a candidate for re-election as Democratic na tional committeeman. His rivals are Roseburg's state Sen. Al Flegel and James H. Moore of Portland. Davidson explained that the na tional committee organization is misunderstood. The group consists of two persons from each state, a committeeman and committee woman. They meet periodically and determine Democratic party policy on a national level. They have no function on a state level, said Davidson, and they meet periodically in Washing ton, D.C., principally and some times in other places. Contrary to widespread belief, the national committee has no patronage to dis pense, added Davidson. Davidson, a Portland attorney, was assistant secretary of the in terior under Pres. Harry Truman. He was also general counsel for the Bonneville Power Administra tion from 1940 to 1946, and the long-time general counsel for the National Hells Canyon Assn. Davidson was recently named chairman of the National Resourc es Committee of the Democratic Advisory Council, and his program for development of national re sources will prove of great bene fit to the Pacific Northwest, should he be retained as committeeman, he contended. In Roseburg he was a guest for a coffee hour at the home of Mrs. Steve i'erche, 651 NE Meadow Ave. His Douglas County re-election committee includes Ed Clark, busi ness agent for the Lumber and Sawmill Workers, No. 2949; Mrs. Ferche; William D. Green, and; Daniel P. Koehane, attorneys; Charles Lynch, financial secretary of the International Woodworkers of America, AFL-CIO, No. 3-436; Robert J.
