Bridesmaids Necia Cardwell and Barbara Fitz gerald, both of Portland, wore light green sheath gowns of silk shantung with full overskirts of green organza and carried the same flowers as the matron of hon or. Organist was Mrs. Barbara Hushlon. Mrs. James Dowdy sang, "Because," "Thru the Years" and "Wedding Prayer." The mother of the bride wore a gown of dusty rose laca with grey accessories and a corsage of pink rosebuds and white hyacinth. The bridegroom was attended by Gene Sause of Eugene as best man, Duncan Kline and Don Bau mer. Ushers were Roy Berg and Dick Kluzik, who lighted the tall white altar eandles after seating the guests. ' Immediately after the ceremony a receotion was held in Nash hall at the church. The beautiful pink and white wedding cake, wreathed with pink roses and lilies of the valley and flanked by pink tapers Mrs. Don Dole Shower Honoree A pink and blue shower, given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rus sell Kaine Monday night, honored Mrs. Don Dole. Mrs. B. Brazier and Mrs. Lewis G. Wilson were co hostesses with Mrs. Kaine. An aDoroDriate stork poster greeted guests as they arrived. The theme, "A Star is Born," was used in another decorative poster. Jap anese quince, hyacinths and vi olets were arranged in bouquets about the room. Prizes were awarded for games after which the honoree opened her beautifully-wrapped gifts. De licious refreshments were served. Jay-C-Ette Dance Slated Saturday Mrs. Larry Armstrong and Mrs. Glen Gowey were hostesses recent ly for the meeting of the Sutherlin Jay-C-Ettes at the home of Mrs. Armstrong. Plans were completed for the "Beatnik" dance, to be given Sat urday, April 9. at the Sutherlin Community Building. Guests are to dress in the heatnik style, in jeans, sweat shirts, leotards and sweaters. Mrs. Gowey was appointed third alternate timber days representa tive. Nominees were named for elec tion of officers, which will take place at the club's next meeting April 25. The meeting will be a no-hostess luncheon at the Four Winds Restaurant. Thomas Findlays Hosts At Dinner Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Findlay were host and hostess Sunday in their lovely home in Lookingglass for a delightful birthday dinner honoring the birthday of six friends and relatives who included Mar celene Painter, Billy Hess, Debbie Resner, Frank Westley, Ruby Blood and Kay Farley. Sutherlin Women Hostesses For Fellowship Luncheon A covered dish dinner was serv ed by the Christian Women's Fel lowship of the Sutherlin Christian Church, at their recent meeting. Hostesses were Mrs. Don Barlow and Mrs. Lee Brinklcy. Special guests were Tom Court ney, Gordon Read and Sue Herrin, an evangelistic team. Following the dinner, a short talk by Mr. Courtney explained the work of women's groups in the missionary field. The meeting was conducted by Mclba Brinkley, president, and the opening prayer was given by Min nie Abeene. Devotions were led by Ada Abeene. It was reported by the work chairman that a large box of cloth ing had been sent to Colegio Bibli co at Eagle Pass, Texas. Present for the meeting were Opal Robbins, Minnie Abeene, Eth el Manning, Alice Swindler, Dora Hamilton, Dorothy Longhrcak, El sie Perkins, Melba Brinklcy, Dor othy West, Loretta Barlow, Leta Braurht, Ada Abeene and three guests, Carol Harris, Curtis Wil liams and Peggy Denton. "Holland" Banquet Theme At Canyonville Friday Night Canyonville Bible Academy sen iors entertained the school faculty at a banquet Friday evening in the CBA dining' room transformed to match the chosen theme for the occasion, "Holland." A windmill fdrmed the focal point with paper tulips, Dutch shoe programs and tiny windmill place cards added to the effect. Sopho more girls dressed in quaint cos tumes served the meal planned as nearly as possible around Dutch foods. Dick Johnson, senior class pres ident, acted as master of cere monies introducing the musical numbers and program: a duet, "Little Dutch MilL," by Georgiana Henry and Ken Lotter; mixed quartet, "Tiptoe Through the Tu lips;" vocal solo, "Smilin" Through," by Mrs. Robert Shaffer and a violin'solo, "Accolopay," by David Johnston, all accompanied by Janet Pennington; and a hum orous Dutch reading by Sandy Lea ' and an address "Tulips and Wind mills," by Jean Exum. The ajinual semi-formal event was planned under the supervision of senior class advisors, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shaffer. "Roseburg Fashion Center of ' Douglas County" was the thought expressed by many of the fashion ably attired guests attending the Roseburg Woman's Club benefit dessert luncheon and style show Saturday at the Umpqua Hotel. Mrs. Robert O'Neil and Mrs. Thomas Garrison were chairman and co chairman of the event. Mrs. Jack West, decorations chairman, and her committee, Mrs. H. C. Berg, Mrs. Porter Lainhart, Mrs. Charles Todd and Mrs. Kenneth Swain, in keeping with the theme. "Fashions Out of This World." transformed the Gold Room inlo "outer-space" with a large glitter ing sputnik mobile which gyrated back and forth in the ceiling above the center of the green carpeted stage. Smaller satellites of styro foam skirted in red or blue net edged in silver, orbited among many silver tenseled stars around the skirt of the huge stage. Each of the more than 81) tables were similarly decorated. Mrs. Albert McBee. president, welcomed the guests who were ushered lo their places by the Misses Julie Roberts, Theresa Lay ton and Pam and Caroline Mahon ey. Seventy models wore the latest rhic spring fashions from local stores. Mabel Lewis' "jet flight around the world in one suitcase" was presented by Mrs. Kenneth Swain, Mrs. Dale Williamson. Mrs. C. D. Albright, Mrs. Knule Kersh ner, Mrs. Rex Roberts and Mrs. R. A, Briggs, each wearing what the well dressed sight seer would need for traveling light. Peggy O'Neil and Gwen Mc Laughlin wore sub teen playclothes from Svoboda's followed by Handy Garrison and little sister Teresa, modeling what the kindergarten set would choose for dress-up. Dehby Jo Waters, Kevin Shell hammer. Jeffrey and Janice Nor man and Stephen Hard paraded in Sunday school attire.
