Adams on Fowler St. Maddox, who is an optometrist in the Army is being transferred to the medical center at Stockton, Calif., from Madigan Hospital at Fort Lewis.' Jim Robertson, freshman at U. of 0., has returned to his studies following spring vacation here vis iting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Jarvis Robertson. Louis Vance has returned to his studies at Southern Oregon College at Ashland, following spring vaca tion visiting his mother, Mrs. Ruby Vance. Mrs. Robert Schulie has return ed to her studies at Southern Ore gon College, where she is a sen ior, following spring vacation at her home. Nick Lthrbach has returned to his studies at Oregon State Col lege, following spring vacation here visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Lehrbach. Dick Ramberg left Sunday for Eugene to resume his studies at University of Oregon, following the spring vacation here visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Ram berg. David Forrest has returned to his studies at Oregon State Col lege, following the spring vacation here visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Forrest, on SE Kano Street. Pat Redmond, who attends Uni versity of Washington in Seattle, spent a part of his spring vaca tion here visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Redmond, and the remainder working in Portland. Miss Marjorie Bowker has re turned to her studies at Oregon State College, following spring va cation here visiting her parents, County Assessor and Mrs. M. C. Bowker. Kenneth L. Carter, formerly of Winston, was recently promoted to staff sergeant in the US Air Force after attending the Non-Commis-sioned Officer Preparatory Acad emy of Langlcy Air Force Base, where he received the highest aca demic award of his class. Kenneth and his wife and son have been at Cape Charles Air Force Base, Vir ginia, for the last year and a half, where he is an electronics techni cian. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Briggt of Powers spent the weekend here visiting (heir parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Briggs and Mr. and Mrs. Neel Simpson. Loren Olson has returned to Ore gon State College to resume his studies, following spring vacation here visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Olson. Miss Susy Lea, student at South ern Oregon College at Ashland, has returned to her studies, following spring vacation here visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P M. Lee. Mrs. Blanch Cacy has left for Sacramento, Calif., where she was called by the illness of ber daughter-in-law, Mrs. Harold Cacy, who is ill of pneumonia. Mrs. Leonard Barga left Sunday for her home in Reedsport, fol lowing a few days here at the home of her mother, Mrs. Anna Neureiter. Tom Lindell has returned to his studies at Stanford, following the week of spring vacation here visit ing his parents, Dr. and Mrs. E. E. Lindell. Mr. and Mrs, Eugene Atwood of this city visited in Eugene over the weekend with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs Ranney Howerton, and family. Ranney has been in a body cast since suffer ing injuries in a skiing accident several weeks ago. He expects to have the cast removed the latter part of this week and will then be in a wheel chair for a time. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Carsteni, accompanied by Mrs. Marion Wood and Mrs. Jane Stephens, went to Coos Bay Saturday, where Mrs. Carstens was installed Princess Zu leima of Zulcima Nile Temple and Doris ray of Coos Bay was in stalled Queen of the Temple. Also goin? over for the installation cere monies were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Halvorson of Sutherlin and Mrs. Paul Newman Sr. of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Carstens enjoyed a trip to the Lloyd and Ruth Claver ranch at Coquille before teturning home. The Claver ranch was written up in the Western Horseman. The Ciavers were formerly of this city and later moved to Coquille to en ter the theatre business. They still own the theatre and drive-in the atre at CoquUle. Mrs. Wood re mained at the Claver home for a longer visit. She is a sister of Mrs. Claver. Mrs. Stephens remained in Coos Bay to spend a few more days visiting friends before returning here.
