Mrs. Herman AmariU, who his been a medical patient at Mercy Hospital, is reported to be improv- and and expects to be released from the hospital today. Mr. and Mrs. Jamts R. Sargent and son, 15 months-old. have mov ed here from Salem and are re-; siding at 7T3 NE Alameda St. Sar gent is with Equitable Savings and Loan Assn. here. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd N. Shapard and sons. IO'j and 2, and daugc ters. 9 and 4. have moved from Elgin, Ore., to Roseburg and are residing at 4057 SW Stella St. Sheo ard is a re-capper for Tire Service Inc. Mr. and Mrs. Jamts A. Jackson and sods, 5 and 2. have moved here from Myrtle Creek (they re sided in Denver prior to going to Mvrtle Creek) and are residing at 1552 SE Kane St. Jackson is em- ployed at Myrtle Creek Plywood. Mrs. John Hamilton and baby son, Kraig, who was born March 13, are staying for two weeks at the home of the latter's maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lois Rothrock. beore going to their home on Wil low Street. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Sayra of this city spent Thursday and Friday in Portland attending the Volks wagen dealers meeting. Sayre is Volkswagen dealer here. The two day meeting took place at the Ben ton Hotel. Dr. Gerhard Eckman and daugh ters, Elissa and Carol, returned home Monday following several days spent in Bend where they en joyed the winter sports at the Bach elor Butte ski area. They also en ioved several outings on the Meto- lius. While in the Eastern Oregon city they visited . with the Grant i Jensen family, formerly of Kose buig. ' i Mr. and Mrs. Jamts Poirot and ' sons, Steven and Ronnie, returned 1o their home in Corvallis Sunday. Mrs. Poirot, the former Haeda Reece, and sons visited from Wed nesday through Sunday here at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Pat Sulli van. They were joined here Satur day for the weekend by Mr. Poirot, ! who took (hem back to Corvallis Sunday. While here Mrs. Poirot; visited her grandmother. Mis. C. E. Richarson, and other relatives I and friends also. . Ktrtn Oragtr, student at Uni versity of Oregon, arrived here last weekend and accompanied her j parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Dra-1 ger. on a trip to San Francisco. I t pon their return, Karen went on ; to Portland to visit her grand-1 mother and will return here again : today to spend the weekend. Her houseguest here for the weekend will be Lollie Adock, of Saratoga. Calif., who is also a student at, IJ. of 0. Karen is a pledge of Sig- j ma Kappa sorority. Mr. and Mrs. Htnry Bailty have' returned home following a two- j w eek trip into California where they ' attended to business matters and i visited relatives. In Sacramento they saw Bailey's sister, Mrs. Har old Cacy and Mrs. Lorctla Guyer, j and their families and in Santa Barbara they saw Mis. Bailey's sister, Mrs. Bill Miller. They visit ed in San Diego with Bailey's broth er and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bailey, and children. They also took a trip over the border into Mexico. During the Henry Baileys' absence, their daughter, Joni Rae. 8, was cared for by her grandmother, Mrs. Edith Bailey. Mrs. Frank Athlty, past presi dent of District No. 2, Oregon Fed eration of Women's Clubs, is at tending the two-day convention to day and tomorrow in Newport. Mrs. Clarence McCracken of Cor vallis is the outgoing president and has just been named "Oregon Mother of the Year." Mrs, Ashley will install the new officers for two-year terms. Coos, Curry, Ben ton. Douglas. Linn, Lane and Lincoln counties are included in the district. The state invention will be held at the new Sheraton Hotel in Portland early in May. Mrs. Ashley will make a report on legislation at the district conven-1 tion. Dr. Eugtnt Gtrliti, pastor of the Roseburg First Baptist Church, is leaving Friday for a week of Evangelistic meeting in the First Baptist Church in Mobridge. S D. He expects to return April 2. Dr. Gerliti was a former pastor of the church in Morbridge.
