Baldinger, and his wife. They have been visiting Oregon cities telling of the fast-growing and valuable ort museum of Oregon, The five interesting visitors are shown with some of the latest gifts mode to the museum. Pictures were taken during their visit at the home of Dr. and Mrs. George Lend in Ridgewood. ROLF KLEP, top left, is shown with a contemporary Japanese ' painting by Michenori Kono, an example of magic realism, 20th century. His wife is pictured tcp right with three pictures presented to the museum by her husband including the Korean Liao Yen picture, "Boy On a Water Buffalo Playing Flute," a water color ond ink on silk; "The Scholar's Retreat on the Mountain Lak..," water col(,r on Gouache on silk, style of Kuan T'Ung-Ming Dynasty, and "Mountain Landscape With River in Buddist Temple" water color and ink on paper style Wong Mer.s' Ch'ing Dynasty. MRS. WILLIAM HASELTINE Portland, (center left) is shown with figurinos she purchased in India last year from migrant people from Tibet, who had fled their country to escape the Communists. WALLACE S. BALDINGER, lower left, director of the museum since 1955 and curator from 1953-55, is shown with one of the latest pictures "A Contemporary on Living Standard," by Michenori Kono, which has been given to the museum. Baldinger is taking a year's leave of absence from the University of Oregon to teach on a Fulbright Fellow ship in west Pakistan. His wife will accompany him. MRS. WALLACE BALDINGER, lower right, holds a ceramic bowl with polychrome glaze, Ch'ing Dynasty, 1644-1912, Reign of K'ang Hsi, 1622-1722, Chinese, a recent gift to the museum from Mrs. Max A. Whittlesey. The ivory carving, "Christ As The Good Shep herd seated Above a Fountain of Life," anonymous artist, was done in the 6th Century, A. D. School of Alexandria.
