Slew art, president of Associated Gen eral Industries, Tuesday attacked a statement and questionnaire sent to legislative candidates by the Orecon AKL-CIO. Stewart said in a prepare statement tliat it was an attempt to "threaten and intimidate the randidale into accepting the AKL CTO viewpoint." George Brown, Oregon head of the AKL CTO Committee on Politi cal Education, denied Stewart's assertion. Ilrown said: "We've been doing this for sev eral campaigns now. There is no threat or coercion. Each candi date is told he may fill out the questionnaire if he desires." Stewart said this was the first time a statement was included on the questionnaire, giving labur's position on such questions as workmen's compensation, unem ployment compensation, income tax", right to work, wages and hours and area education dis tricts. The nine-point questionnaire also asks the candidates' viewpoint on those subjects. "The candidate had better an swer right or he'll be wrong as far as tiie lop echelon of the AKL CTO is concerned." said Stewart, adding that he considered it an "attempt at legislation by pres sure." Brown denied that, and said the statement of lalwr's position was! included this year because eandi ! dates had asked for it, saving they wanted an explanation of la - j bur's stand on the questions. j Drive To Open Thursday S3 sis - " ' i I i-wl'::::'"5' j.s'-'i-'i;.1'.! aj r:r v v. i!.V -jyf&' f ' :-7'l ' i Butler Tabs Jack; Demos Back Leader Police Round Up 500 In Dixie Race Battles WITH the 1960 Easter Seal drive opening Thursday, Doualas County Chairman Robert M.
