Mrs, Arthur Clarke has returned home on SE Kane Street, follow I ling a six weeks vacation trip to Honolulu. She was acompanied by her friend, Mrs. Harry Rogers, ol Brooklyn. N Y. They made the trip via Matson's luxury liner SS Malsonia and returned by plane. While in Honolulu they stayed at the Princess Kaiulani Hotel. David Sallee, who is stationed al Adak. has received his orders for transfer in May to the Mobile Con struction Battalion No. 3 in Okina wa. He will spend a month's leave visiting relatives in Oregon before leaving Port llueneme in Califor nia for Okinawa. His wife. Bon nie Sallee, is employed in the of fice of the Douglas County Title Co. Mrs. H. A. Canaday has return ed to her home in Roseburg, fol lowing a three weeks vacation trip. Archie White was for merly manager of the Casa Avenue Safeway store here and Mrs. White was a secretary at the Roseburg Branch of the U.S. National Bank Geddes, and family. Kenneth Cass and Harold Brcn nen. of this city drove to Eugene Wednesday evening to attend the Shell Oil Company dealers meet ing. Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Hansen and daughter. Mrs. Herbert Leonnig. and son and daughter-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hansen, and Agnes Clark of this city drove In Eugene Wednesday for the funeral of Anna Petersen, sister of Mrs. H. T. Hansen, who died in a nurs ing home there, following a Ions illness. She was born in Denmark. Funeral services were conducted by Mrs. Howley Burton of the Christian Science Church and were held at England Funeral Home. Mr. and Mrs. George Gratka arc back home following a trip to Cali fornia to see the Olympics at Squaw Valley. The spent nearly a week there, arriving for opening day. They stayed at the Heather Motel on the south shore of Lake Tahoe. The motel is operated by friends, Mr. and Mrs. Hedly Mae Donald. They were interested see ing many skiing events and watch ed the U.S. -Australia hockey game. They enjoyed seeing Mr. and Mrs. Lome (Dutch) Sii.ions. former residents of Roseburg who n o w make their home in San Jose. Calif. The Gratkes returned home by way of Prineville where Mr.-:. Gratke remained for a few days visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Dragich, who had kept the Gratke children, Grclchen and David, during their parents an aence. Gratke came directly home.
