travelers from Toledo Wednesday. I

Clue J Fizzle In Martin Case
PORTLAND (AP) The clothing
found last weekend in Hood River
County was not from the missing
Ken Martin family, .Multnomah
County sheriff's deputies said.
Members of another family told
deputies they had discarded I lie
clothing in Ruckell Creek on the
Multnomah - Hood River County
line last December. The clothing
included a sweater, a hair ribbon,
a girl's torn pedal pushers and a
shirt.
Detectives Gene Niece and Wal
ter Graven traced the family
through the name of the father
found on .a slip of paper in the
creek Wednesday.

erine Stearns, 59, Friday night
alter neighbors said she had
threatened suicide. After taking
Mrs. Stearns in hand, police
searched for half an hour before
they found her daughter, Mary, 33,

kets. Henchey said Ihe daughter was
in such a wild state she had to be
