Klkton Cub Scouts held their an
nual Blue aod Gold Banquet Fri
day evening at the grade school.
About 70 guests were present.
One den gave a clever skit wilh
illustrated floats and the other den
put on pantomimes with records.
Guest speaker for the evening was
Tim Kllia of Yoncalla. Warren Ba
ker, tha new cub scoutmaster was
in charge.

The cub scouts are asking the
support of the community for the
skill show to be held March 13 and
14 at the Eugene Lane County fair
grounds. On the 13th the evening
show will be at 6:30. On the 14th
there will be an afternoon show
beginning at 2 and an evening
show at 6:30.
Myrtle Creek Cub Scout Pack
326 held its annual Blue and Gold
dinner Friday at the school cafe-j
teria. Theme for the banquet was
carnival and some of the tables
were decorated in that mood while
others carried out the space theme
and centennial.
Speaker for the evening was the
Rev. Cyril Dorsett. District Com
missioner George O'Mealy, intro
duced by pack master, John Ris
ley, presented the awards to the
boys. Two new bobcats, Wayne
Meyers and Michael Redmond,
were given the bobcat pledge. Re
ceiving honors were Todd McKm
nis, James Smirl, Ronnie Carte,
Larry Woodral, Dubby Hobbs,
Shawn Shelby, Mark Evans, Terry
Risley, Gary Wright, James Town

The Cub Scout Pack 119 of Wilbur-Winchester
School held its Blue
and Gold Dinner in the Winchester
gymnasium Friday night. Mrs. Jay
sjiinn baked and decorated the

Cub Scouts' 30th birthdaj.
Kach den presented a skit to
King Rex, played by Mr. Smith,
the school principal. Keoneth For
rest and hia little pal, "Rocky,"
entertained with their humorous
routine.
Awards were given to the follow
ing: Clair Morgan, WiUard Whit
tin, Larry Means, Ronnie Johnson,
Larry Ding, Eddy Denny and
Floyd Pasch. Badges were received
by Bradley Young. Leland James,
Blaine Bartlett, Bill Shinn, Mike
Sullivan and Tom Haskct.

HONORED for their work in Scouting were Mrs. Cliff Fer
ber, lett, ond Mrs. jKenneth Swoin, who received the high
est award given in Cubbing by the National Council of
Boy Scouts of America. Only three of these have ever
been given in this district. Frank Norton, who was the
speaker at the recent Blue ond Gold dinner held at
Hucrest School, is ot the right presenting the two
awards. An extensive training program must be carried
out in addition to being a cub scout mother three years

Held At Hucrest School
A Blue and Gold dinner was held
recently at Hucrest School for the
Scouts and their families of Pack
No. 133 and Troop No. 133 and Ex
plorer Scouts.
Emil Johnson was master of
ceremonies and introduced Frauk
Norton, speaker for the event.
Mrs. Kenneth Swain explained
the scout skill show to be held
March 14 at the fairgrounds.
Mr. Norton announced the Cub
Scout Pack No. 133 won first place
in the Boy Scout window displays.
This is the second time they have
won in three years.
Ken Forrest of Roseburg gave
a delightful program. He a a very
talented ventriloquist.
Awards were presented to Rob
ert Roelle, first year pin; Michael
Dillon, Lion badge; Jeff Jonei,
Bear badge; Mike Kershner, Wolf
badge; Lonnie Ferber, 2-yenr pin;

A lovely banquet was held by
Florence Nightengale Tent No. 15,
Daughter of Union Veterans, at the
Legion Hall Friday evening, at
which time the slate president.
Mrs. Ruth Plumer, was guest of
honor. The tables were decorated
with miniature stage coaches and
other centennial articles.

Holds Annual Banquet
Thursday evening the Cub'scouis
of Pack 134 held their annual Blue
and Gold Banquet at the North
Douglas Grange Hall. There were
over 100 present, including Mr.
Bush who is a commissioner for
the Scours of the Bohemia district.
After dinner was served, Mr.
Bush gave an interesting talk.
Thanks was given to the den moth
ers for their splendid display on
the tables and for making tbe din-

to Mrs. Ted Shultz was given by
her sisters in Xi Epsilon Chapter
of Beta Sigma Phi before she left
for Seattle where a round the world
trip was to start.
This trip will take Mr. and Mrs.
Schultz to Yokohama, Japan;
Hongkong, China; Manila P I.;
Saigon, Viet Nam ; Singapore, Brit
ish Crown Colony; Colombo, Cey
lon; Bombay, India; Djibouti, So
maliland; Port Said, Egypt; Cairo,
Egypt; Athens, Greece: Roma,
Italy, Paris, France; the British
Islands and then on to New York,
from where they will drive back to
Roseburg.
The trip will last four months. A
lovely gift was presented to Mrs.
