nue, following a trip to Bismarck,
N.D., to attend the golden wed
ding anniversary of tha former's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Maier. All of the family attended
the celebration.
Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Toiar en
joyed Ihe weekend in Newberg,
where they visited the former's
mother, Mrs. Walter Tozer, who is
reported to be Improving follow
ing an illness. They stopped over

son, who has been hospitalised and

William Evans. Mrs. Evans is the
former Nancy Bell, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Don Bell of this
city. In Portland, Cherie was join
ed by her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Havens, who went there
for the weekend and to enjoy the
Shrine game. They brough her
back to Roseburg with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Dick Walsh stop-
ped over here recently en route to
Arcat-, Calif, to visit the latter s
brother and his family and were

Zenger. En route north again this
week, they stopped over and were
houseguests of Mr. and Mrs. w. b.
Tozer at their summer home on
the North Umpqua River. In Port'
and, the Walshes slopped to see
Mrs. Fred A. Knight, formerly of
this city, who is now living in
Portland. Air. and Mrs. waisn now
reside in Vancouver, B.C. They

are back at their home on Ter
race, following a trip to Germany
to visit relatives and friends. Mrs.
Sohn, who also accompanied them
on tha trip remained in Connecti
cut! with her two younger sons to
visit her parents and they will re
turn this weekend. Mrs. Arnold E.
Jurgens of this cily accompanied
the Snhns to Connecticut and took

Mary E. Young of Honolulu spent
the last week in Roseburg as the
guest of Mrs. A. B. Cacy at her
home in the Kohlhagen apartments.
She left Wednesday hy plane for
San Francisco and will enjoy a va
cation along the California coast
and in Mexico before returning to
Honolulu after the first of the year.
Before retiring, she was emploved
by the Bank of Hawaii.

Whitfield-Levcnhagen wedding and
the Smith-Morris Bernhardt reun
ion picnic. She also attended the
Roderick Bowman funeral in
Reedsport. A very pleasant trip to
Gardiner and the beach was en
joyed. Mrs. Kreis visited with
many old friends and acquaintanc
es and returned home Sunday
