Mrs. Frisk, formerly secretary

ber Co. in Portland. Her daughter,
Carolyn, has enrolled at Lewis &

OAKLAND SORORITY TO
SPONSOR DANCE TONIGHT
Beta Pi sorority of Oakland will
sponsor a dance at the tennis court
grounds in Oakland Saturday to
night starling at 9 o'clock. Music
will be furnished by a local band.
The cement floor is in for the ten
nis court.
Proceeds will be used for finish
ing the court.

daughter, Mrs. T. D. Scott, and

Earl Parrett Jr., all of North Hol
lywood, Calif.
Empire People Visit
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Davies, of
Empire, and former residents of
the valley were visitors in the area
over the weekend. They came to
attend the Belieu Family Reunion
Sunday in Ramona Park.
Mrs. Wilmer White and two
daughters, Mary and Susan, have
returned to their home in the val
ley following a two-month tour of
the United States. The, family visit
ed in 27 states and the national
capital.
A highlight of their trip was
three days spent in Williamsburg,
Va.
The trio visited members of their
families in several states.
Anaelenot Visit
Mrs. William Hall and two chil
dren, and Wilson Roberts, all of
Los Angeles, are visiting the home
of their parents. Mr. and Mrs.
Lloyd Roberts. Mrs. Hall is the
former Polly Roberts.
Stanley A. Parrett, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Earl Parrett, is confined
to Olive View Sanitarium for an
indefinite stay. He is a former
resident of the valley and attended
school here. He is better known as
Allen.

returned to their home in Upper
Camas following several days' va
cation spent at East Lake.

and daughter, Sandra, Darlene

Taylor, and Mrs. W. H. Carter,
were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wil
liam Busch recently. They were in
the valley to attend the Belieu
family reunion.
Word has been received bv Mr.
and Mrs. William L. Banks of the
birth of a son to Mr. and Mis.
Matty Sandoval, of Harbor Citv,
Calif. Mrs. Sandoval is the former
Carol Perry, niece of Mrs. Banks
and had resided in the area for
several months. The baby has been
named Mark Anthony, and weigh
ed eight pounds, two ounces.
Public Health Service
Announces First Grants
WASHINGTON' "AP( The
Public Health Service announced
Friday the first grants approved
from an appropriation of 30 mil
lion dollars for expansion of health
research facilities.
The larger grants included:
Oregon Slale College, Corvallis.
Ore., $64,272 for equipment for
Science Research Institute Build
ing. University of Washington, Seat
tle, S425.OO0 for new research wing
for Health Sciences Building.
