65 Hogs Perish When Fire Destroys Buildings
BANKS, Ore. (AP) Some 85
hoRj perirncd Friday night when
fire destroyed several buildings on
the Ray Van Domelin farm near
here.
Firemen from Forest Grove,
Ilillsboro and Banki fouRht the
flames after they broke out from
undetermined cauie late in the
night.
Fire destroyed the hogs and
their pen, a barn full of hay, a
granary that was partly, full and
a new milkshed.
Firemen managed to keep the
blaze from reaching the Domelin
house.

Mrs. Clare Baldwin, night nurse
at the Douglas County Hospital, has
returned lo her dtuies following
an urgent call to Rackcrby, Calif.,
on hearing that her father, Aaron
Nixon, had suffered a stroke. Soon
afler, Mrs. Nixon suffered a fall
in which die sustained the loss of
an eye. Both are presently con
fined to a hospital in Oroville, Calif.
Mrs. Baldwin spent a few days in
California, returning to Roseburg
Saturday morning. She expects to
bring the Nixons to Roseburg to
soon as they are able lo be moved.

have relurned home following a
trip to Estes Park, Colo., where
