A CAPPELLA CHOIR of Son Francisco Theological Seminary will present a concert at
the First Presbyterion Church Sunday at 7:30 p.m. The choir is on its 21st onnual tour,
composed of 42 young men ond women Seminary students, and directed by Professor John
Milton Kelly. Professor Wilbur Russel ond Mrs. Kelly, music faculty members are touring
with the choir. The rertoire this season includes classic ond contemporory music. In addi
tion to the concert programs, there will be music for informal gatherings scheduled at

Nettles sentenced Caldwell to 5 to

for conspiracy. The budge suspend
ed the shorter sentence on good
behavior. Spencer and Brown were
sentenced to two to five years.

Mrs. Lucile Grimm are in Cali
fornia for spring vacation. Mrs.
Grimm is a teacher in the Camas
Valley High School. Mr. and Mrs.

Harry Rose has sold hi. ranch
in Upper Camas, but his future
plans are .till undecided.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Erickson
and daughter, Judy, have moved
to Tenmile. Judy was a student in
high school.

have returned to the valley fol
lowing a trip to Plarerville, Calif.,

of Great Britain, former head of
the United Nations' Food and Ag
riculture Organization and 1949
winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.
He spoke to the convention

Iran, in a Moslem New Year ra
dio broadcast, told his people to
day that he could not join in their
celebrations because of his sor
row over hi. divorce from Queen
Soraya. He called her "my dear
wife who ha. been my faithful
friend.
The Shah divorced his beauti
ful 20-year-old queen last week be
cause she had not given htm an
heir. His advisers had urged that
ne lake another wife who might
give him a son so the throne could
be passed from father to son.
"This derision is one of the
most difficult I have taken," the
ruler said. "But I have always for
gotten my personal affairs for the
sake of the country since 1 suc

Army Establishes
Missile Command
WASHINGTON i The Army
established an over-all ordnance
missile command Thursday and
gave its chief, Maj. Gen. John
B. Medaris, direct access to the
Army secretary and chief of staff.
Such access is designed to save
time in the solution of problems
bv bypassing intervening echelons
of officers.
The new command was ordered
into operation March 31:
Secretary of the Armv Wilber
Brucker said it will have direct
control over the Ballistic Missile
Agency, including that unit's work
at Cape Canaveral. Fla., the jet
propulsion laooralory at Pasade
na. Calif., the White Sands
(N.M.) Proving Ground and the
Redstone Arsenal at Huntsville.
Ala. The Redstone installation will
be renamed the Army Rocket and
Guided Missile Agency.
Life In Prison
Meted W. Davis
BAKER, Ore. I A life prison
sentence was imposed Thursday
on Wesley Earl Da -is, 30. of Port
land, who was convicted Tuesday
of armed robbery.
He was accused of robbing Ed
Coles, Prineville, at gunpoint, of
his automobile. The robbery oc
curred, the prosecution said, when
uavis was fleeing after escaping
irom a Jan at Anacortes, Wash
in January.
Davis also is being tried on an
other charge of armed robbery.
accusing him of takine a second
car from an Oregon state police-
man in nis iiigni.
A companion, Norman Gihb.
also of Portland, broke out of the
Anarortcs jail with Davis on Jan,
9. They were captured the follow
ing night after an exchange of
snots with police In a canyon
southeast of here.

officials estimate some 2.500 geese
have been poisoned in the Klam
ath Basin by farmers attempting
to curb an outbreak of field mice.
Kenneth MacDonald, regional
refuse director of the Fish and
WUdlife Service, said at Portland
that game agents had found 2.000
of the dead birds on the Tule Lake
refuge in the past week.
