Scout Den Needs Helper
The Camai Valley PTA met re-i
cently (or its regular meeting, and
named cafeteria aids for the month
of January were Mn. J. C. Akey,
and Mri. 0. Weist.
Meetine Data Changed
The PTA sponsored Cub Scouts
have changed the meeting date to
the third Monday at 7 p.m. The
next meeting will be Jan. 20.

first grade class. Several musical
games were demonstrated, and a
story from the "Alice and Jerry"
reader was enacted with 10 of the
students participating.
Refreshments were served by
Mrs. Frank Grimm and Mrs. Bert
Irwin. Mrs. Peltzera class won the
room count prize. i

.Mrs. Lee Banks. Luncheon will be
served and a small charge will be
made for this meeting.
Those attending are asked to
bring their own table service. The !
meetings are open to any inter-:
ested woman in the area. 1

Economic Club has announced that
the large punch bowl and cup serv
ice that the club had been work

Former Glendale
Resident Passes
In LosAngeles

Word was received in Glendale
recently that Mrs. Ross Banning
of Los Angeles, a former Glen
dale resident, had passed away
Dec. 29 with a heart attack.
Rev. Banning, her husband, is
a former pastor of the Glendale
Assembly of Church. He was pas-,
tor when the present church build
ing was erected. )
H. L. Shepherd of Quines Creek
whose deceased wife was a daugh-1
ter of Rev. and Mrs. Banning, his
daughter. Linda, and his mother,!
left shortly after receiving the
news of Mrs. Banning's death, for
Los Angeles to attend the funeral i
which was held Jan. 2. They were i
scheduled to return early this .
week. I
Church Women Moot
The WMU of the Glendale1
Southern Baptist Church met at j
the church annex last week. ,
Mrs. Juanita Thomas had charge
of the service which was built :
around a report on language dif
ficulties suffered by missionaries;
in the world denominational mis
sions program. !
The girls auxiliary met the same1
afternoon under the leadership of
Mrs. Alvin Long.
Meetings of both groups are held
each Wednesday afternoon.
