Deanna Schroeder Becomes
Mrs. Mickey Stritzke
The First Southern Baptist
Church in Hoscburg was the scene
of a wedding Saturday Sept. 14,
when Miss Deanna Elizabeth
Schroeder, only daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Adrian Schroeder of Rose
burg, became the bride of Elmer
(Mickey) Stritzke, youngest son of
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stritzke,
Winchester. The Kcv. J. T. How
ard performed the double ring cer
emony at 8 p.m. in the presence of
125 friends and relatives of the cou
ple. Yellow, green, gold and rust were
the colors used throughout the wed
ding. Two large floor baskets hold
ing marigolds, zinnias and vining
maple and the two tall floor candel
abra holding white candles, togeth
er with flowers in each window
formed the church decorations.
Miss Joyce Moore, Madras, play
ed the wedding music and accom
panied Miss Ann Smith of Corvallis
who sang "I l-ove You Truly" and
"Wedding Prayer" and Miss Patsy
Wilhoit who sang "The Lord's
Prayer" at the close of the cere
mony. Escorted to Ihe altar on the arm
of her father, the bride was beauti
ful in a ballerina-length gown of
while lace over taffeta, styled with
new princess neckline and three
quarter length sleeves. Her shoul
der veil fell from a tiara of seed
pearls and rhinostonos. She wore
clear plastic slippers and carried
a whito Uiblc topped with white
roses and whito satin streamers.
.Ihe wore her maternal grandmoth
er's pearl necklace, an heirloom of
the family.

Point, cousin of the bride, was
maid of honor and wore a ballerina-length
gown of sun gold taffeta

ew of the bridegroom, was ring

For her daughter's wedding, Mrs.
Schroeder chose a while dress wilh

ies. Mrs. Stritzke wore an aqua

Party Entertained Saturday

at a buffet dinner served at the
Swedish Dining Room Saturday
evening al 6:30 o'clock.

church parlors. The bride's table
was covered with a lace cloth, can
dles flanking the tiered wedding
cake which was decorated in yel
low and white and topped with
bride and bridegroom figurines
in a heart. Mrs. Harold J. (Lor
raine) Horn, sister of the bride
groom, assisted by Miss Jeanctte
Van Wert, Portland, cut and served
the wedding cake after the bride
and bridegroom cut the first slice.
Mrs. Oral (Mary Ann) Wescott and
Mrs. Doyle (Martha) Poole, sisters
of the bridegroom, served the cof
fee and punch.
Mrs. Lowell Nichols, Salem, had
charge of the guest book and
Miss Cynlhia Cox, Carmcl, Calif.,
assisled by Mrs. Dennis (Jodie)
Linnell, sister of the bridegroom,
had charge of the many beautiful
gifls. Waller and Duane Schroeder,
brothers of the bride, assisted in
arrangements for the reception.
Airs. Raymond E. Miller was in
charge of all the flowers for the
wedding and reception and did all
of the decorating. She fashioned
all of the corsages of beautiful
colored aslers worn by members
of the wedding party.
For traveling, the bride chose
a light blue knit suit with whito
accessories. Her corsage was of
white roses. Following a honey
moon to Grants Pass and Oregon
Caves, the newlyweds are now at
home in Pullman, Wash., where
the bridegroom is attending Wash
ington Slate College.
The bride was graduated from
Madras High School and attended
Oregon Stale College. She has liv
ed in Roseburg for two years dur
ing which time she was employed
by the Douglas County Stale Hank.
She will work at Washington Stale
College.
The bridegroom has lived in and
near Roseburg all of his life, mov
ing lo Winchester Willi his parents
in March of l'.H4. He was graduat
ed from Roseburg High School
where he was active in sports and

HONORED ON HER 94th birthday Wednesday was Mrs.
Louise Voigt, above, who was complimented at a charming
party given by her daughter, Mrs. William Vogt, when
members of the Mid-Week Bible Class and friends were in
vited to her home on Wharton Avenue to celebrate the
occasion. Mrs. Voigt, who is in fairly good health, enjoys
flower gardening and visiting with her many friends. She
was born Sept. 17, 1863, in Germany and was married to
Julius Voigt Oct. 17, 1885, and in 1891 moved with him
to the United States and settled in Jamestown, N. D. Mr.
Voigt died in 1927 and she moved to Roseburg to make her
home with her son-in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
William Vogt, 666 Wharton Ave. She has the one daughter,
one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren and eight
great-great grandchildren all living in Roseburg. She has
one sister in North Dakota and a niece and great-nephew in

A charming affair of Wednesday
was the birthday party given by
Mrs. William Vogt for members
of the Mid-Week Bible Class of St.
Paul's Lutheran Church and friends
in compliment to her mother, Mrs.
Louise Voigt, on her 94th anniver
sary. Mrs. W. M. Schneider furnished
the beautiful bouquets of colorful
fall flowcrj, which she tastefully
arranged about the large living
rooms. Mrs. Schneider also made
the corsage for 'the guest of hon
or and for the hostess as well as
for Mrs. W. A. Sylwester, wife of
Pastor Sylwester.
The serving table was covered
with a lovely white birthday cake
flanked by tall pink candles and
pink roses. Mrs. Vogt was assisted
by Mrs. Charles McCullum, Mrs.
Schneider and Mrs. Sylwester in
serving the refreshments.
After the singing of the birthday
song, Mrs. Gary Kummer, chair-
j man of the class, gave a short talk
! and presented a birthday gift from
I the class to Mrs. Voigt. A lovely
