LOTUS KNIGHT PORTER
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 1957
The Newi-Review, Roseburg, Ort. S
TODAY MARKS THE FIRST day of fall and for today's feature page, five Roseburg resi
dents were selected ond were asked what fall meant to them.
FALL means football sepson to Dave Bradley and yell leader queen Susie Short, pic
tured above left. They are both seniors this year. Susie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Coy Short of this city. The Roseburg Indians can well be proud of their new football
uniforms this year. Dave Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Bradley of Rossburg.
AND TO JERRY O'BRIEN, center right, fall means LEAVES AND STILL MORE LEAVES to
be raked and raked. Jerry is the elder son of Mrs. Eugene O'Brien- and the late Mr.
O'Brien. He is a senior at Roseburg High School. The busy fall months represent many
hours of canning to Mrs. Donn Radabaugh, lower left picture, who is well-known among
her friends for her delectable canned fruits, vegetables, jellies ond jams. One of the new
recipes used by her this year was for fruit cocktail which includes cantaloupe balls and
is shpwn on the tray at the right.
FALL to Miss Elizabeth Randall, top right, means the beginning of the busy school year
and the many demands upon her at Roseburg Senior High School, where she so success
fully fills the office of Dean of Girls. No matter how much is demanded, Miss Randall re
mained unruffled and always cooperative and charming. She has been a favorite with
the feature page photographer and society editor since they first met her.
IF ANYONE KNOWS beter than Glenn Taylor, lower right, wheje good fishing is found,
we haven't found him, for he hos fished the Rogue, Coquille, Coos, Umpquo, Siuslaw, Alsea
and Siletz rivers, Coos Bay, Winchester Bay, Newport, Depoe Bay and Bellingham Bay
and Loon, Diamond, Tachkenitch and Tenmile lakes and all with splendid success. Before
retiring, Glenn was fire chief in Roseburg for many yeors. Right now you guessed it
It's the fine fall fishing he is interested in.
