HAS ANNUAL PICNIC
The annual June picnic of the
Past Noble Grands Club of Riddle
Relief Rebekah Lodge, was held
at the home of Mrs. Ann Worthing
ton Cassidy on the Days Creek
Canyonvillc road. A bountiful one
o'clock meal was served in the
yard under spreading oaks on the
bank of the Soulh Umpqua.

were married Saturday, June 29,
at the home of the bride's brother-in-law
and sister, Mr. and Mrs.
Vern Cooper in Olympia. Wash.
The bride, wearing a pink frock
with three quarter length sleeves
and fashioned with a pleated skirt,
carried a bridal bouquet of pink
roses. Her only attendant was her
sister. Mrs. James Moore, who was
dressed in a pink suit.
Mr. Moore acted as best man
for the bridegroom. Others present
at the ceremony were the bride's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Sla
ter of Rochester, Wash.,; her sis
ters, Jean and Kaythryn, her broth
er James Slater, and Mr. and Mrs.
Cooper.
Following the ceremony the cou
ple left for a wedding trip to Vic
toria and Vancouver and will be a
home near Milo about July 9.
Mrs. Tumey was a member of
the senior class of the Days Creek
High School having completed her
Junior year in May before moving
with her family to Washington. Sho
had made her home here for a
number of years. Mr. Tumey has
lived in the Milo-Tiller area for a
number of years. He is employed in
the logging industry.

ON JULY 5 AT 8 p.m. Susan Potter, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. R.W. Potter of Roseburg, and George Bldcher, son
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elmer D. Blocher of Minneapolis,
Minn., were united in marriage at St. George's Episcopal
Church at a candlelight ceremony. Father William Blaker
performed the impressive double ring ceremony in the pres
ence of a small group of relatives and close friends. (Pic

namented the pews.
For her wedding the bride wore
an ankle length gown of embroi
dered white organdy and a finger
tip veil fashioned with seed pearls.
Her bouquet was lavender and
white carnations and roses tied
with ribbons of lavender. She was
given in marriage by her father.
Miss Potter's attendants wore
short pale pink frocks with white
tulle sashes and carried nosegays
of white and lavender carnations.

of honor with Mrs. Robert West
and Beth Potter, younger sister
