BARBECUE DINNERS are included in one of the most pleasurable parts of summertim
living and many Roseburg families are enjoying patio parties and their gardens this sea
son. Today's feature page was taken at the beautiful home of Mr. and Mrs. William
Forrest and family on SE Kane Street with the members of the John Longfellow Jr.
family.
MRS. WILLIAM FORREST and Mrs. John Longfellow Jr. are pictured at the top left with
the cakes for the dessert-course. At the top right is John Longfellow Sr., who recently
moved here from Bremerton, Wash., and is pictured with his five grandchildren, Leslie, 1 1;
Chris, 9; Susie, 6; Jeff, 5, and Patrick, 3, the daughters and sons of the Longfellow Jrs.
SETTING THE TABLE for the barbecue dinner (center right) are Lynn Forrest, who will
be 14 in October; Molly Forrest, 9, and Jeanne Forrest, 7. Salmon shish-kabobs are
ready for the barbecue grill in the lower left picture, which includes hosts William For
rest and John Longfellow Jr. and the former's eldest son, Bill Forrest Jr., who is home
from Oregon State College for the summer.
PART OF THE FUN of an out-door barbecue is roasting morshmallows and David For
rest, right, 15, and Scott Forrest, 11, show their young brother, Paul Forrest, 3, just how
it is done. When the entire dinner was completed and ready for serving the Longfellows
ond Forrests entertained as guests the Paulus McKee family and the Al Bishop family.
