A decrease in unemployment for
the Douglas County area is noted
in a report for the month of May
by the Kosoburg office of the Ore
gon State Employment Service.
Unemployment was 47.2 per cent
less by the cod of May than in
April and numbered an estimated
9L'0, the lowest number so far for
the current calendar year.
There were 204 new applications
for work filed through the local
employment service of which 110
were female applicants. Kon-agri-
cultural job placements numbered ;
