SEVERAL HUNDRED Douglas County teachers attended the centennial dinner party held
at the Hotel Umpqua Gold Room Thursday evening. The tobies were cleverly decorat
ed for the occasion. Camellias carried out the floral motif. In the picture above, Mrs.
F. C. Fitzpatrick, retired teacher, Calvin Middleton, Glide teacher, and Judy Burkhart, a
future teacher, preside over the cake lighting ceremony. Mrs. Geneva Hyde, Rose teacher,
had charge of arrangements for the feature page.
