University of Oregon, has arrived
here to spend the holidays with
his parents, the Rev. and Mrs. W.
A. Sylwesler. Their son. David,
who is also a student at University
of Oregon, will arrive here Dec.
24. He remained in Eugene to work
during the holiday week at the
Co-Op store. Their son, John, who
is a student at Concordia Academy
in Portland, will arrive here Sun
day for the holiday week.
Mr. and Mrt. f. P. Mendenhall
and daughter. Penny, and Mitt
Sandra Paulson left this week
for Stockton. Calif., to spend
Christmas with Mrs. Mendenhall's
brother-in-law and sister. Mr. and
Mrs. Dovle McCalip, former Rose
burg residents. After Christmas
they will go to Huntington Park
to see another sister, Mrs. A. R.
Husband, and family. They also
expect to tee the Rotebowl game
in Pasadena New Year's Day.
Mrs. Edna E. Co, Mr. and
Mrs. R. W. Cox and Mardne. Dar
rell and Marlin Cox. all of La-
comb, visited over the weekend
at the home of Mrs. George r..
Miller. The former is Mrs. Miller't
mother, and R. W. Cox is her
brother, llarlin Cox, Mrt. Miller's
nephew, has recently returned
from Corpus Christi, where he
had been stationed in the Naval
Reserve for over a year. The Cox
family also visited here with two
of Mrs. Miller't sisters, Mrs. Crys
tal Baldwin and Mrs. J. L. Rutherford.
Mrs. Dal Landar left Thursday
morning for Santa Monica, Calif.,
where she will spend a month vis
iting her husband, who'it confined
at the California Rehabilitation
Center at a polio patient. During
her absence. Cindy, their small
daughter, will be cared for by her
aunt, Mrs. J. E. McLaughlin, dreg
and Scott Lander, the Landers'
sons, will stay with their grand
mothers, Mrs. Forrest Losee and
Mrs. H. L. Lander. Lander it re
ported to be making slow but
steady progress in his fight with
polio.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Ramberg
and Mrs. Caroline Ramberg of
Portland arrived in Roseburg to
day to visit Ihe latter'f son and
daughter-in-lawt Mr. and Mrs.
Emil Ramberg. and family. They
will be joined here Sunday by Clif
ford Ramberg of Portland and
Mrs Beatrice Smith and daugh
ter, Barbara, of Jamestown. N D.

I brothers of Emil Ramberg. They
! will visit here a week, while Mrs.
