Mrs. P. Coplin of Dorns, Calif.,
spent a few days here recently at
the home of her son and daughter-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Orbie Cop
lin. She made the trip to see her
granddaughter, Kaye Coplin, mar
ried lo Holland Davis.
Hold Picnic West Coast Car
nival held its annual picnic at
Umpqua Park all-day Thursday
with more than 200 present and
owners of the carnival acting as
hosts. Rosehurgers invited to join
the group for the day were Miss
Agnes Pitchford, Mrs. Roy Bell
ows, Mr. and Mrs. George Trap
olis and Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Craf
ton. Races, games and swimming
were held during the day.
Trip To Canada Mr. and Mrs. I
Oral treemyer and son, Richard,
returned the end of last week from
a two-week vacation trip. The first
lap of their journey took them to
Yakima, Wash., where they visit
ed Mrs. Kreemyer's parents, Mr.
and Mrs. L. M. Wolfe, on the oc
casion of the latter's golden wed
ding anniversary. They also visit
ed in Wenatchee with Freemyer's
brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Clarence Freemyer, and in
Spokane and Newport with rela
tives and friends there. The List
week of their trip was spent in Can
ada, at Banff, Lake Louise and
Radium Hot Springs. In all, the
Freemycrs traveled over 2100
miles.

cepted employment at Kim's Drive-
in on Harvard Avenue.
To Eugene Robert E. Mathis
and his aunt. Miss Olive Mathis
who is visiting here, went to Eu
gene Wednesday to meet Robert
rearnen, bringing him bacK to
Roseburg for a visit. The latter and
Robert Mathis were classmates at
the University of Oregon. Fearri
en's home is at Paulina.
Returns From St. Paul Mrs.
F. K. Armson has returned to Rose
burg following a month's visit in
St. Paul, Minn., where she visited
a large number of friends and rel
atives. She was the house guest of
her son-in-law and daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. George L. Rardin Jr.,
who became parents of a baby '
girl during Mrs. Armson's visit.
The baby, named Katherine Ann, I
was Dorn June 29. The Karelins i
also have two sons, Steven and i
David. Mrs. Rardin. the former
Clementine Armson, worked as the
city librarian before her marriage.
Returning with Mrs. Armson was
Mrs. Rose V. Brown, who will be
here for a two-week visit. '

Ramberg and son, Doug, have re
turned here, following a couple of
days in Portland, where Doug was
given his periodical medical check.
He was reported much improved
and will not have to return for
another check for three months.
They were accompanied to Port
land by Ramberg's mother, Mrs.
Carolyn Ramberg, who returned to
her home there, following a visit
here at the Ramberg home. Also i
visiting here the last three weeks
have been Mrs. Ramberg's niece, :
Janice Cameron, of Portland, and i
her nephew, Jimmy Kromer. of !

Go To Portland Mr. and Mrs.
John Malone of this city recently
made a trip to Portland to take
their children, John and Carol, who
left from there for Spokane to spend
a vacation visiting relatives.
At Breedlove Horn Miss Eva
Bond arrived Monday to visit at
the home of her brother-in-law and
sister, Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Breed
love and with two nieces, Mrs. E.
M. Mathis and Mrs. Harry Colli
son Jr. Miss Bond, who makes her
home in Indianapolis, made the trip
here with S. Sgt. Robert E. Mathis,
who was recently discharged from
the U. S. Air Force in Florida. Miss
Bond will be leaving toward the
end of next week.
THIEVES GET LOCKS
RATON, N. M. UH Fifteen
locks, mostly from garage doors,
are being held for their owners by
city police. Officers said the locks
were removed by youngsters who
had made a home-made skeleton
key.
