Oakland Man Called
To Oklahoma City

Jack Sifers has returned from
Oklahoma City where he was call
ed by the death of a brother, Charl
es Sifers.
The Blue Bird group led by Mrs.
Virginia -LaMoote is making Eas
ter baskets and planning an Eas
ter party. There are 20 girls in
me group.
Tawanka Camp Fire Girls held
a ceremonial recently and each
girl received beads that she had
earned. The group has completed
12 oaby gowns lor weltare.
Mrs. Sylvia Manning, who frac
turcd her ankle recently, is now
home from the hospital and able
to get around on crutches.
Dr. and Airs. Homer M. Noble
attended an officers meeting of the
Fresbyterial at Jacksonville re
cently. Mr. Applewhite of San Diego,
Calif., arrived this week to spend
some time in Oakland. He spends
his winters in ban Diego and the
summer months in Oakland.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Drake have
rented their home and have moved
into their new house east of Suth
erlin.
Mrs. Reba Self has returned
from a visit with her mother, :
tor and other relatives in DaYas,
Texas. She also visited in Okia
homa. A nepnew, Clayton Bailey.
Ma Has, returned with her for a
visit here.
Mrs. Don Pelzel of Tacoma,
Wash., visited recently with her
mother-in-law, Mrs. Mamie Pelzel.
She also visited her mother in
Roseburg.

calls herself the "last of the saddle tramps," arrives in Fresno,
Calif., on her horseback Jaunt from New England. The 64-year-old
West Minot, Mine, traveler will continue on to Los Angeles,
having already traveled 5600 miles since November, 1954.
