Youngblood said James Harold
Rosenberger, who had just com
pleted a seven-month term- for de
struction of property, was in the
house and the children were asleep
in a bedroom.
Just as he was about to arrest
Rosenberger, Youngblood said, a
doien armed and angry friends of
the Frost family arrived. Young
blood said he whisked Rosenberger
off to jail. He said he doubted if

Musical Comedy ,
'Oklahoma' Cast
Named At Douglas
Casting of parts in the musical
comedy "Oklahoma," which will
be presented Feb. 23-24 and March
2-3 by the choral groups of Doug
las High School was completed this
week.
Mora than 20 Douglas high stu
dents will appear in the famed
Kodgers and Hainmerstein Amer
icana production. Jim -Miller won
the leading male role of Cur ley.
Cast opposite him, as Laurey, are
Micki Eason and Ann Ferguson.
They'll give alternate performanc
es, according to Director Mrs. Ir
ene McLaughlin.
Cast in her first singing role,
that of the comic Ado Annie, n Car
ol Dowdy. Ron Coulter and Nor
man Malone will be seen as Ali
Hakein, the Persian peddler. Al
ternating performances as Will,
special friend of Ado Annie, are
Les Green and Louis Vance.
The tragic role of Jud will be
portrayed by Jerry Carter. Shirley
Shepherd and Marilyn Haumeser
are cast as Aunt Kller. Other lead
ing performers are Roger David
son (Mr. Carnesi, Betty Ferguson
(Gerty) and Ellis Vance t Skid
more ).
Supporting players are Glenda
Smith (Ellen), Jeanine Coulter
(Faye), Donna Geddes (Vivienne),

smash hits of the season.
In a matter of a few months she
confirmed her standing as one of
the leading discoveries of recent
years with recitals in Boston Chi
cago and Cleveland. She continued
with an orchestra debut with the
New York Philharmonic Symphony
under Mitropoulos, a radio appear
ance and recordings for Columbia

Property, Lives
At Canyonville
Ingenuity saved property and
possibly some lives at a Canyon
ville trailer camp during lha recent
heavy snowstorm.
Fred A. Mensing, a resident at
the camp and an employe at the
Hanna nickel smelter near Kiddle,
reports that the camp encountered
much difficulty Friday evening
when power failure cut off lights
and communication.
While he was endeavoring to ob
tain inlormation by meant of his
car radio at about 8 p m , a ne la
boring trailcrite shouted a warn
ing that a tree was beginning to fall
toward the automobile. The tree
was bending under its weight of
snow and was moving slowly, giv
ing Mensing time to drive his car
out oC danger just seconds before
the tree crashed. Another falling
! tree caused minor damage to one
, trailer house, while nearly all in
the camp were threatened.
On resident suddenly propound
ed a unique idca.
The men dashed to their trailers
and brought out rifles and shot
guns. They began bombarding
branches of trees in danger of col
lapsing upon the canio. Within a
few minutes th trees had been
freed from their burdens of snow
and were no longir a threat. Ail
around the CJmp, however, the
ground was strewn with fallen
treea and debris.
LIVESTOCK PIOURi UP
SALEM The amount of
livestock on Oregon ranches look a
big jump last year, the Oregon
Department of Agriculture report
ed Thursday.
The department said it made
brand inspections of 874.903 head
of livestock last year, or 100,000
more than in 1954.
Brand inspections reflect the
movement in commercial channels.

clerk of the county in which said person resides license for such dog by paying said license
fee ond provided further, that if said person foils to procure such license within the time
at herein provided, the County Court may prescribe a penalty in en additional sum not to
exceed $2.00 for eoch dog. Such license, fee sholl ba the only license or tax required for
the ownership or keeping of a dog within this state, and no city or town or municipal
subdivision thereof shall impose eny further license fee for dogs. Provided, however, that
cities of one hundred thousand (100,000) or more pop u lotion may prescribe ond impose
a license fee which sholl be in lieu of the license fee herein required. The County Assessor
and his deputies forthwith shall report to the Sheriff all dogs that they shall find that
ore not licensed os herein provided, together with the owner or keeper thereof.
LICENSE FEES Mole $2.00; Femole S3:00; Spayed Female $2.00, if
licensed before March 1st of each year. If licensed after March 1st;
add a penalty of $1.00 ond after June 1st, a penalty of $2.00 to each
license fee when paying or remitting for a dog license, eicept a dog
just purchased or reaching the age of Eight months, the license then
being due within 30 days.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (. Sitting
in the living room of their farm
home last night, Mr. and Mrs.
Ivan Schuster heard a scream
from a bedroom where their 10-year-old
daughter Jeannie was
sleeping.
As they burst into the room
Jeannie gave a low moan and lost
consciousness.
The bewildered parents tried
frantically to determine what had
happened.
Then st-husler found a dead wasp
beneath the covers of Jeannie s
bed. He called a doctor. ,
The girl was dead when he ar
rived. The doctor said Jeannie had died
of anaphylactic shock induced by
extreme sensibility to insect slings.
