Republicans Not
Raising Big Fund
To Beat Morse
ASTORIA ' Wendall Wyatt.
Republican slate chairman, said
Monday there is no effort by He
publicans to raise a hutie fund to
defeat Sen. Morse (D-Orc) in the
forthcoming election.
Morse made that charge Sunday
in a television interview.
"His comments about the money
of his opponent, before he has one,
is a deliberate attempt to draw
attention away from the elaborate
plans he has to raise a nuge siusn
fund of Eastern money for his I'J'Ji
campaign," Wyatt said.
"Much more money is available
to Morse and he will spend much
more than the Republican candi
date can possibly have available,"
Wyatt added
The Republican chairman said
Morse repeated "his charges that
President Eisenhower has no po
litical morality. In fact, he says
the President is dishonest.
"This is a slranae accusation
to come from a man who was
elected in J!IH largely because he
assured Republican leaders of bis
party lovalty and his faithfulness
to Republican Tarty principles."

Telephone Call Warns
Of School Bomb Threat
TIGARD W Three telephone
calls were received at Tigard High
School Tuesday warning that a
bomb had been planted in the
building. School was dismissed
despite the belief it was a prank.
Police searched and as in simi
lar instances found no bomb.
There was a rash of such affairs
last spring after the Meier &
Frank Co. store bombing. There
was one Monday at lioseburg.
While it was assumed at Kose
burg the threat was a hoax, per
haps by a student seeking a day
from classes, there will be no
study time lost the day will be
made up either at spring vacation
or at the end of the year.
Last spring several Portland stu
dents were caucht and admitted
phoning bomb threats. They lost
their school credits for the year,
had to pay a share of police and
fire department call costs, and
were put on probation.
