children as the yule spirit enveloped
scores of Oregon cities.

Santa, of course. Is getting to
be the busiest fellow in the country
these days and will become even
more so as visits are scheduled
to hundreds of civic, church and
school programs.
At Baker, the County Historical
Society made arrangements t o
have Mrs. Claus accompany him
over the Oregon Trail. They'll
occupy a trailer house on the
city's main street Saturday.
An 18-foot neon star was planted
atop Skinner Butte at Eugene
beside the Easter Cross, in a new
tribute to Christmas.

Fourth Bid Lost
In Damage Suit
SPOKANE in Rowland C.
Bartlelt and Robert J. Price have
lost their fourth bid to collect
SI, 125.000 in damages from the
Dahl family of Elk, Wash., in con
nection with a uranium site dis
pute. Judge Louis F. Bunge said the
amended complaint was substan
tially the same as three previous
complaints Bartlett and Price di
rected against the Dahls.
"There is nothing here but the
bare allegation that the plaintiff
was damaged in the sum of over
one million dollars," the judge
said.
Bartlelt and Price contended the
Dahls agreed to lease them land
which later proved to have uran
ium deposits of commercial qual
ity. Daybreak Mining Co. is oper
ating on the land now.
Bartlett ran for Congress in
Portland in W8. He also was a
candidate for mayor in Seattle at
one time.

boss Khrushchev.
The two Soviet leaders are
scheduled to visit England in April
as official guests of the govern
ment. The conservative Daily Sketch
reported a poll of its readers
showed 69.6 per cent in favor of
canceling the invitation Prime
Minister Eden extended at the
Geneva summit conference last
summer.
The paper did not say how many
persons answered its question
naire. Informants have said the Eden
government so far has no intention
of calling off the visit despite the
Soviet leaders' bitter attacks on
Britain during their current Asian
tour.
