Has Quarterly Meet
The Days Creek Community
Methodist Churcb held its quar
terly conference Sunday evening
at the church. District Superintend
ent Meredith Groves was present
for the conference and showed col
ored slides showing the progress
of other OreEon Methodist church
es. The potluck supper was follow
ed by a business meeting, and a
lesson on visitation evangelism by
the Rev. Mr. Groves. The church
is undertaking a visitation pro
gram. The Ladies Aid of the church
met last Thursday for an all-day
work party and potluck luncheon.
Gardiner Woman Speaks
To Canyonville Rebekahs
Mrs. Mary Sagabird of Gardiner,
who celebrated the 50th anniver
sary of her installation as noble
grand, gave an account of her ex
periences to members of the Ber-
! tha Rebekah lodge of Canyonvilie
j at their regular meeting at the
IOOF hall Tuesday evening.
Mrs. Sagabird and her daugh
ter, Mrs. Guy McGee of Canyon
ville, were guests at the meeting
I at which Mrs. William Preston,

presided.
No-host refreshments were serv
ed at the conclusion of the meeting.
Canyonville Lions Meet
With Clendale Group
Several Canyonville Lions met
Tuesday evening with Glendale
Lions in place of their regular
meeting scheduled for Wednesday,
according to Carl Hill of the execu
tive board.
Canyonville Lions will hold their
meetings with neighboring groups
as near their own meeting date
as possible until such a time as
they can again meet at Ford's
Cafe.
Those going to Glendale Tuesday
included Hill, Milton Herbert, I.
N. Gray, Norman Graham, Jim
Hancock, George Blomgren, Nor
man Chappell and Charles Dowd.
VFW Auxiliary To Have
Benefit In Canyonville
Plans to invite all organizations
to participate in a benefit dance
for the Sydney Hemphill family
were made at the Wednesday eve
ning meeting of the VFW Auxil
iary at Cannyonville.
The dance is scheduled for Sat
urday, Nov. 12, at the Rod and
Gun club west of Canyonville.
Other business considered at the
meeting included placing the ce
dar chest, a club project in Bind
er's clothing store window this
week.

moving the municipal hangar at
the Klamath Falls Air Force base.
District Navy headquarters,
