House Endorses
WASHINGTON LB - The House
endorsed President EUenhowm's
budget plans for reclamation con
struction and investigation last
week, wiping out $33,654,553 in cuts
made by its Appropriations Com
mittee. Giving the committee's usually
honored recommendations the
harshest treatment in years, the
House approved exactly what Ei
senhower asked for construction.
S14fi,0i0,000. The committee had!
recommended SUV&'.OOO.
At the sama time, in approving
an omnibus money bill for various
types of public works, it boosted
funds for reclamation project sur
veys from the committee-suggested
$3,669,442 to $5,104,000. Again, this
was what the President asked.
In the case of the construction
program, the House increased allo
cations for all individual projects
to the budget requests, granting
the full administration proposals
even to those projects for which
funds had been deleted by the
committee.
The latter Included $520,000 for
the Michaud Flats project in Ida
ho and $631,000 for the Foster
Creek unit of the Chief Joseph
project in Washington.
The Increase in the investiga

Pansy The Pig To Move
In With Top Farmer
ROCHESTER, N. Y. Wl Pay
the pig is about to move in with
the nation's best known farmer
President Eisenhower.
Of course, it's not going to be
the White House, but then the
President and the pig's present
owner, 11-year-old Emmy Lou
Murphy, agree that the city is no
place to raise a pig.
Emmy Lou and her 16-year-old
brother George wrote to the Presi
dent asking him if he wouldn't
take the six-week-old pig and raise
her on his farm in Gettysburg, Pa.
Receptlv, they received a letter
from tho President saying he
would be glad to take the young
porker, that he would treat her
good and that if he remembered
he's send Emmy Lou a picture of
Pansy when she came of age.
The President agreed that the
city was no place to raise a pig.
Rodeo Weekend Cives
Police Little Trouble
Rosebure got through rodeo
weekend with a minimum of oolice
effort, Police Chief Stan Olson
said today.
Some years in the past, officers
have been kept busy with traffic
during rodeo hours and with pre
serving the peace later. This year,
though, traffic flowed smoothly
and only a couple of drunks wound
up in the municipal bastille, 01'
son said.
One fight broke out Saturday
night In The Shalimar Room, 122
S. Stephens St. However, police
were unable to locate all parties
involved and no arrests were
made.
