Children Taking . Part
In Test Vaccine Trials
CLINTON. 111. Wl Children In
DeWitt County are participating
in a trial test inoculation of Salk
polio vaccine designed to provide
longer immunity.
Some 150 children from 6 months
to 10 years of age received trial
shots Wednesday and another 250
will be inoculated Thursday. The
vaccine is produced by Farke. Da
vis and Co. of Detroit. The com
pany says the vaecino contains an
"additive" which will slow absorp
tion, in the blood -stream. -
Such a process, the company
said, should provide a longer pe
riod of immunity and also increase
the vaccine's effectiveness.
The company said the vaccinn
is not the same type used in the
recent nationwide inoculation of
first and second graders.

Emphatic Signs Don't
Mean It In Poughkeepsie
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.- Y. Of) A
sign that says "no parking" means
just that in Poughkeepsie.
But if it says "positively no
parking," then a question arises.
Signs bearing tile later inscrip
tion were placed on the property
of the Dutchess County office
building, o-eserving spaces for of
ficials. '
Some motorists Ignored them.
Red-faced county officials discov
ered they had no way of enforcing
the edict. There was no ordinance
covering "positively no. parking."
