436 Drivers Lose Licenses In February
Traffic law violations cost 436
Oregon motorists their licenses to
drive last month. Secretary of
State Newbry's office has report
ed. -Licenses
suspension followed
court convictions for serious traf
fic offenses in 333 cases, including
drunk driving, 'hit and run and
driving on a previously suspended
or revoked license. Conviction on
these charges makes suspension
mandatory under Oregon law.
An additional 96 drivers were
suspended by. discretionary action
of the department, 58 of whom
were grounded for failure to report
accidents. Thirteen drivers with
records of repeated accidents or
traffic convictions also received
suspensions during the month.
