FLEETWOOD The 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood series 75 eight passenger sedan and lim
ousine is now on display at Roseburg Motor Co. in Roseburg at the corner of Washing
ton and Rose streets. The sedan and limousine f are powered by 250-horsepower high
compression V-8 Cadillac engines. The limousine includes an electrically operated, pas
senger controlled glass partition which separates the chauffeur's compartment froni the
rest of the interior.

Nibble Bait
6 cups Puffed Rice
13 pup butter or margarine
S drops Tabasco sauce (option
al)
Vi teaspoon paprika
Vi cup grated sharp cheesa
Heat puffed rice in a shallow
pan in a moderate oven (350 deg.
F) 10 minutes. Place in a large
,bowl. Melt butter; cook and then
aaa moasco sauce, papriKa ana
grated cheese. Slowly pour over
puffed rice, mixing so all kernals
are coated. Serve as a snack.
Corn Bread Sloppy Joes
Makes 12 servings
Corn Bread:
2' cups enriched corn meal
2 cups sifted enriched flour
1 teaspoon salt
8 teaspoons baking powder
2 eggs
2 cups milk
Vt cup shortening, soft
Sloppy Jo Mixture:
2 pounds ground beef
1 cup choped onion ,
V4 cup chopped green pepper
2 cans tomato sauce ,
14 cup chili sauce .
V4 cup hot water l
. 1 teaspoon salt '
- 3 tablespoons vinegar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
For corn bread, sift together
dry ingredients into large bowl.
Add eggs, milk and shortening.
Beat with rotary egg beater until
smooth, about 1 minute. Do not
overheat. . Pour batter into greased
8x12 inch pan. . Bako in hot oven
(425 Deg F.) 25 to 30 minutes..
For Sloppy Joe. mixture, brown
Uwmeat in a little hot fat In a
large frying pan. Add onion, and
green pepper and cook about i
minutes. Stir in remaining ingre
dients and simmer 20 to 25 min
utes. To serve, cut corn bread into
squares and split each square
Toast until golden brown. Top with
hot Sloppy Joe mixture.
Brazilian Volcanoes
Makes 12 servings
Meringue Shells:
6 egg whites
1 teaspoon vinegar
2 teaspoons vanilla
',4 teaspoon salt
1! cups sugar
23 cup quick oats, uncooked
3 or 4 Brazil nuts
2 quarts ice cream

Grand Jurors Open Probe

slaying of William W. Remington,
former government economist con
victed of perjury in a Communist
espionage case.
Two physicians who tried vainly

omists life at Lewisburg (Pa.)
Federal Penitentiary last week,
were slated to testify on Reming
tons injuries. They are Dr. Charles
Tomlinson, prison ohvsician. and
Dr. Leon Witkin, of Milton. Pa.
Three convicts are charged with
Remington's death. They are Lew
is Cagle Jr., 17, Chattanooga,
Tenn.; George Junior McCoy, 34.
Grundy, Va.; and Robert Carl
Parker, 21, Washington.

ident 'Eisenhower, wants to guar
antee union members full value
for money invested in their wel
fare funds.
McConnell. chairman of the
House Labor Committee, said this

ducting hearings on welfare fund
operations.
Eisenhower has suggested that
Congress enact safeguards for
such - funds, estimated to exceed
20 billion dollars in value. - -
